PG - this is brilliant! It also is absolutely TRUE...well...perhaps this incident isn't, I dunno, but this type of thinking does occur in the corporate mind.

In GM, there are classes for mgmt that show how to get the most out of your workers. The main motivator? Change! ANY change! If you keep jerking ppl around a lot, they become demotivated by pure exhaustion, & are more pliable & less resistant to unfair changes.

The union also has classes. They teach workers how to mess with mgmt. Best time of the day to mess up your mgr's day is right at the end, when he's liable to take those bad feelings home with him. This wearing down of your boss causes a lot of problems for him as he takes home his work feelings. Eventually, if your team bands together, your mgr will back off, or ask for a transfer.

Unfortunately, most American workers aren't privy to this info, due to the near disappearance of unions, so they almost always get the short end of the STICK.

Just thought I'd share that with you.

I'm glad you liked the clip Phil, and thanks for the info. The video clip on the URL is an exaggeration, of course. But I do see similarities in the office I work in now and from previous jobs though. All of the clips on that website are funny, but this one stuck out most to me.
