Came down with creeping crud this weekend. 102 degree fever and can barely breathe. A lot of people seem to be coming down with this around here. Are we going to have a Swine flu pandemic? It certainly is miserable having a high fever with the heat index outside about the same. My son had it before me, and a few business associates I know had it. I hope none of you get this crap...

Stay back Bob !!

I really do hope you get to feeling better Bob.

You know, if you can tolerate feeling like crap, not taking antipyretics so that your body temp stays up (of course there are upper safe limits I dont generally allow mine to go much past 102) will naturaly shorten the duration of the infection. This is especially true for bacterial but applies to virus as well. Most have a fairly narrow temprature band they can reproduce in.

Yeah, in the past when I get a fever I wrap myself up in very hot clothing and get under a number of blankets. I usually wake up in the middle of the night completely covered in sweat and the fever is GONE! I'm not sure I can take that approach now considering how hot it is already. Plus I don't want to get our Temperpedic bed all messed up, my wife wouldn't appreciate that...

Yea, dont wet the bed Bob.
My trick when I feel like rolling over and just dying is to get into the tub.
I'll heat the water up while I'm in there just as freakin hot as I can stand it. (and thats pretty danged hot)
Spent the whole night in the tub lots of times when bad sick.
It's a wonder I havent drown.

Ha, ha! :) I like to play with people's minds by saying, "I'm not an actor, but I play one on TV!"
