"Right then Chippy.....

You have all of the wires in what seems the correct places, your guitars tuned, your keyboard hooked up, fail-safes in place just in case a nasty storm comes your way and destroys all you create.

Software loads without a flaw too!! All looking good for you Chippy now, nothing can stop you!!!"

After a period of time Chippy realizes nothing is coming.

"Go for a walk then, it will clear the senses and re-vitalize you Chippy!?"

He cannot do that because the short trip to the store brought about yet another Horse Fly bite now numbering 18.

"Beer?"

Too early.

"What about that track "Prelude" you were going to re-write, what about that then Chippy eh? Folks seemed to like that one."

Altered states are but a fraction of sin itself. And no one can designate a time and place for creation.

Oh Shoot!!

Beer it is then!

My advise is don't put yourself on the spot like that Chippy. There is no law saying you have to write something today. Relax man. Have a beer or a shroom and just start jambing on your fav. instrument and the ideas will start to come to you. When they do turn everything on and go with it just let it flow naturally.

I took the beer option. :D
Frankly I like chatting with the rhythm section and having a laugh prior to a gig/something. I cannot do that at the moment.

One man Skeletal band may have to continue for some time. I need work Dude. When I have work everything else will fall into place but without it I'm left with what I had before.

Thanks Haley.

Cheers.

Chippy.

Yea, and I never seem to have my recorder or a freaking pen handy when it does come. GRRRRRR
I have written more song ideas on trash off the floorboard of my Jeep than anything else.
Says a lot for how clean I keep my Jeep dont it.

No, no shrooms in the Jeep.
That was an old Rambler stationwagon we had.
It had belonged to my moms father, had vacume pump windshield wipers.
Could not see shirt if it rained.
Man, I miss my ol Grandpa.

I can go months without writing a song and then you find yourself writing 3 in one day. One thing that works is finding some nice scenery to look at...

This is why I can't wait to get my Zoom recorder. Portable - easy to use. I can turn it on when the inspiration strikes.

I found that the stuff I've written that I like the most is the stuff that came about spontaneously - totally out of thin air, during a jam or some such thing.

It pays to have some way to capture that stuff when it happens.

Two days later everything was blasting to be honest. I know and agree you should never put yourself on the spot but then in the real world you are asked to do that no matter what trade you ply. I failed that day but am truly happy with what happened next.

Nope. Do you work here? :D
Seriously though what's the point of posting unfinished, undocumented work? Sadly it will be ready when its ready, others too at the mo. Sorry Rat :(
