Hey sans! I got together with tha flat-singer guy last night, to learn some stuff for a cpl upcoming gigs. YAY FOR ME! I'm gonna get to PLAY again!

I have some work to do, though. I have never ever played a paying gig that included a Zep song...LOL...oh well...I'm about to lose my cherry. Also doing some Bowie, Todd Rundgren, ZZTop (DAMN I hate that band!), Floyd, a few Beatles, Billy Joel, Yardbirds, & some modern stuff I never heard before.

Sorry, JH...they're much too predictable for me.

Would it help if I said I love the Talking Heads & David Byrne?

:D

Phil- If you can find it, ZZTop's 1st album (no its not tres hombres or rio grande mud) its called "ZZ Top's 1st album" no I'm not kidding, you will be surprised how unpredictable they are. They just sold-out to mainstream latter-on..

-edit-

Ok I found a little "sample":

I have seen ZZ many times in concert and I have always enjoyed their shows.
I would agree that they went "pop" when the big cash was dangled in front of them. But man, what a sound they had back in their "arena" days.

Me and the boys had a great practice session.
Man, I love playing guitar for these guys. :D

Glad the rehearsal went good for you Sans. Man I had forgotten all about that album thanks for sharing that with us ZXYZ! I really enjoyed hearing that song again. That Album also had Back Door Love Affair on it Did you see where it was recorded at George, Tyler Texas. I read somewhere that Billy Gibbons was a rich kid that grew up in the upscale neighborhood of Tanglewood here in Houston his family had a maid that turned him on to the blues. Man that is some Bad ass music my favorite of all time. Yee Haw!!!

I first saw ZZ Top in 1974 at the Michigan Palace in Detroit. Awesome show, Billy and Dusty had this joke thing going back and forth that cracked me up! Saw them again in 1978 with the big cattle tour. They had huge steers just roaming around on stage.
