Testing Two and Nevermore I likes!
And good job on Redhouse too. I feel a Hendrix connection here. You ever heard his song "Ezy Ryder" ? I have a feeling you have. Ozark.. hmm.. U heard of the "Ozark Mountain Daredevils"?

Well, I uploaded another cover tune, "Ain't No Sunshine". This was the band I played with last year, just a bunch of friends throwing it together and having fun. We did a few demo songs in my studio for fun and this is one of my favorites, mainly because someone else is singing.

"Testing Two" - I like it, but I am a sucker for the jams that work, esp when there's a touch of funkiness to 'em. Nice licks once again, & good tones. The panning keeps it from getting too overdone, somehow, but it still feels a little long to me. Prolly cuzza the lack of vox, & the repitition.
"Ain't No Sunshine" - good singer. Too much noodling in the call & answer of the guitar, imho. Nice 1st lead section. Very soulful. 2nd lead - I'm not crazy about that tone, for some reason. Just feels weak to me. Hope it sounded different live & it's a prob with the transference to MP3.
"Redhouse" - one of the most overplayed blues songs, imho. I don't like the tones as much in this one. They clash with the harmonica to my ear. Too bassy? I dunno, it's like you're playing in the low tones of your wah. Nice 2nd guitar solo, where you change the tone. It sounds great there, & the licks is hot, man. Last verse I hear ya really wanting to rush it. Slow's a booger ain't it? Overall, it's pretty good.

Ha ha ha! Good ear ya got there Philby. That second lead was my Fender Squire Tele through a cheap little Korg effects unit straight into the board. Our other guitarist plays a real Tele, but his lead sucked (too overdriven) and I recorded this lead trying to capture his Tele sound just to have a finished product. He was supposed to come back over and redo his solo, but never made it back out. Probably would have worked out better having the clean lead first and the overdrive second, but when we play that song the other guitarist always wants me to do the first lead.
OK, as per giongi2's request, I put up 3 more tunes. Still older stuff. Dang, I need to get all the quirks of Ubuntu figured out so I can start recording on my new(er) computer. Got to apologize in advance for Never Say Never. I had the whole song figured out in my head but didn't have a drummer handy and played the drums myself. I can play basic stuff alright, but this song had some intricate breaks and, on top of that, I had to record the drums first (it's how I roll) so I had to set the mix, and then play while recording with no other instrument to keep me on track. Then I had to go back and try to add all the other instruments and vocals to a less than perfect drum track, thus the bad timing. So sue me.
I kept it so that some day I can redo it with a real drummer, but keep putting it on hold. I had Sammy Hagar in mind when I wrote it (in case you couldn't tell). Critique it if you want, but I doubt you'll come up with anything I haven't kicked myself in the butt over every time I listen to it.
By the way, all the guitar parts on Never Say Never were done with the same guitar, even the acoustic part.

OH MY GOSH, SO MANY CRITICS..... SO LITTLE TIME.....GET MY GUN......
I guess I missed some of the other songs you put up. Did you put them up on your unattended website?
If you want to do any thing big in the music biz you gotta have Faith.
[THOUGHT I WAS GONNA SAY SOMETHING ELSE>>>I WAS].
Recording anything can be a difficult task. I've lost song deals for movie trax because the drums weren't real
I know RAT was asking for it, but I have to say thanxs, YOUR GUIT PLAYING ROCKS<ANY ONE ELSE HAVE THE FAITH TO POST SOME "ORIGINAL" TRAXS.
Thought you said you were leaving home and heading north...still waiting...

giongi I've posted some original stuff, but I'm not gonna inflict a dreadful singing voice on the world, and I don't have access to anything that is real drums, so I'd have to get creative with some muted slap bass, and my guitar ability is just forming so I'd probably use my fretless with distortion, someone told me bout a program to layer in tracks, but I forgot cuz I play daddy
TED_LORD......Man thats tough, not the vocals but the drums.
Kudos to all you drummers out there,,,, NOTHING BEATS A GOOD LIVE DRUMMER> Do everything you can to put down live drum trax ,aint no way around it. Loops drum machines whatever..... Behind every great band is a great drummer,,,,,, NOT A TAPPER.
