Bruce Springsteen just did something on DAILY SHOW..

"I'm working on a dream" I think is the name.

It sounded awful. He repeated that same line 10x.

Did I miss a part of it or is that just the worst tune I heard him sing yet?

Gee and although I never really liked Bruce's music, I think he's hit a new low.

Maybe he had a bad gig, that happens to the big boys also bad sound, the host pissed him off, sick who knows.
Music is an art form and your mood has to be right I call it my musical spirit. I just turned down some gigs because of some problems we had this past weekend at one of the regular gigs we have been doing for 9 years the problems were with all the people that work at this place a festival type setting every one from the parking attendent that charged the band six bucks apiece to park to the guy that wouldn't stop pressure washing the plaza and got water on some of our gear to the guards that told us we couldn't bring our cooler in, they want the band to pay five bucks for a water and six bucks for a beer. The agency that books us in there called about an hour ago and I told him our price just went up because this place is just to much of a pain in the arse to play unless we could make some decent money (kinda bold heh!) I am sure he will be calling back (NOT)

Yeah, I never was much on Springsteen either. "Born in the USA" was too repetitive for me. Once, out of boredom I think, I read the book "Born in the USA" about Springsteen. It told about when they would play these huge venues, after the show he would take off with a couple of bandmates and try to find some late night live music place and get up and jam with the band. My appreciation for him went up a notch.

Bruce has always walked the line with me. he has some really good songs, and some crap. he's always been a great performer though and I have to agree with J. it could have just been a boner of a gig. I've certainly had my share of em.

I think we talked about Springsteen before. I lived in New Jersey when Bruce was just making it big. It was almost sacrilege NOT to like Springsteen. I never really liked him. I roomed for a while with three gals and another guy (that was fun sometimes). They were all Springsteen fanatics. That's when I was first learning how to play bass and really getting into the blues. I had been to a number of Bill Blue shows and had to twist everybody's arms to go see Bill Blue when he came to town. I finally got everyone at my house to go see Bill and it was a revelation to everyone. There was actually somebody as good (or better) than Springsteen out there. Springsteen is a good song writer. I don't like his performances. I know he's got a lot of energy (or had a lot of energy). He just almost never stops singing, and even when he's not singing he's making some weird vocalizations over the very few solos the other performers take. Most of the time he's not playing his guitar, it's slung around his back, kind of like a stage prop. God bless him he's hopefully worth a fortune and got millions of fans, but I'm just not one of them...

I'm the one that started that thread you are talking about Bob. I was (P.W.I.) during the Super Bowl commercials (New Jersey Rules) any way I have never had the pleasure of seeing the Boss live (I would love to though) I have always been a big fan of his. If other people don't like his music and or image that is Okay it is all a matter of personal preference. I just think he is the epitome of American Rock and Roll music. :D

I was a fan long before he became a huge phenomenon (we're talking 73-77). "Born to Run" was brilliant, and I loved "Darkness on the Edge of Town". I saw him in 1978, amazing 3+ hour show. But I haven't bought any of his stuff in over twenty years, and the new stuff is drivel. He was horrible at the Superbowl. Some people should just rest on their laurels.

I don't like Springsteen either, but met him briefly twice in addition of attending 2 of his concerts due to my wife (she loves him), he lives in Homldel NJ 20 minutes away from where I live, once at Gym in Ocean NJ with his wife and at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, the club that lunched him which he regularly used to attend on his off time to jam with whichever band plays there, I remember while tuning my guitar he walked by and yelled " Hey man do you make any money with that thing?" he very approachable and unpretentious, I got the impression of a nice guy, all this happened 8 years ego, now I don't know maybe he did turn into a prick but doubt it tho. He still makes 50 million a year got to respect that.
