Our search for a hot lead guitarist has taken a turn for the interesting. I found out that an incredible lead singer/harmonica player we used to play with years ago is now available as he has retired from his day job. Our current keyboard/harmonica player (that's him on my profile songs) is also becoming more available soon. Add those two to me (I can sing a little) and a new accoustic guitarist/phenomenal lead singer and we've got the possibility of FOUR lead singers. We may not NEED a strong lead guitarist with this new potential unplugged band. Years ago I played some unpluged gigs with Jerry Dowell, and they were rather awesome I must say. Always had a desire to try something more vocal oriented. We're all hopefully getting together next weekend. I've got my fingers crossed that something different and exciting perhaps comes our way. What's even more mind boggling is the harmonica player/lead singer is also an excellent accoustic guitarist and keyboard player. I also play harmonica. The possibilities for this group might be infinite, we'll see...

It's not easy to sing in harmony. It may seem easy, but it isn't. You've all got different vocals and you have to adjust yourself to fit with each other and be in the same phase.
Anyways, good luck with that, man.

Yeah and I want to record new stuff. Geting people into the studio these days seems like pulling teeth. Everybody wants instant gratification. They come over and audition and say "no need to rehearse. let's get gigs now." I say get gigs with what? Where's the demo CD of US? Where's our website? Where's our business card? Do you know of any places waiting for us to walk in their door and just start playing? Are you sure we can play FOUR sets of material? Another guitarist called me yesterday and said he won't rehearse more than twice with a band. I told him to go ahead and get us a gig. Our first paid opportunity anywhere in K.C. would be months away. What do we do while waiting? twiddle our thumbs? Wouldn't it be a GOOD idea to make sure we KNOW WHAT WE"RE DOING FIRST? BEFORE the gig? Sorry for the rant, I'm losing my patience with people who have no patience...

If they tell you they don't need to practice that means you've got yourself a "Rockstar"
That usually means their going to get on stage and show everybody what they've got, and usually means stepping all over the song and everybody in the band.
