...Our Lead singer very talented. wants to sit at home and drink himself into a stupor. Scared stiff at getting out and playing live, New Venues send him in to willie land. wants to quit cause he does't think its something that's respectable...

LOL, nothing personal against the guy you're talking about, BUT, a singer who doesn't want to play out live ISN'T a singer, he's just a guy who (I assume) can carry a tune!

theres a lot more to being a lead singer than just singing.

no one in my town want to do anything different then what's already being done i the area. emo has taken over. the only people around here into "metal" are into Slipknot and Korn. no one here has ever heard of any of the bands me and my friend/bandmate listen to. and to top it off, everyone says tht we are too loud, even the ones that are into "metal" and "punk".

rock and roll is dead in this town... i mean county...i mean state...i mean...

Im originally from New York City most of the songs I listen too are 90's (which I miss). Yes emo has taken over here, as well as korn and slipknot in my county as well. It would be a miracle if I found 30 ppl who knows Leftover Crack, The Distillers, or Tiger Army. I wouldnt say rock and roll is dead..... also wouldnt "metal" be louder than any type of music, I guess Im confusing it with head bangers.

I've been trying for a1 1/2 to get a band together. My last band wanted to pawn off all of their sh** for dope,so that went down the drain. So now I sit looking for a band in my area in this little town. Any ideas on what i should do?

I dont know if this true because I never went to a venue b4, but heres an advice my informer bandmate went to one and saids that theres alot of ppl looking to be in the band there. So I guess you should try there, just go to the music. And about the pawn off of dope thing man thats harsh, to trade something that waste fast, at least a equipment is something that doesnt come and goes after one try.
