Hello anyone,
Forgive my jumping in with a general technical site question, but my question to the site help itself never yeilded an answer.
I just want to now how I change the small photo that comes up alongside my entry when I post on a thread?
It must be dead simple but I cannot see what to click on... nor can I remember how I got the particular photo that comes up each time!

Actually under the account settings, there's a "forum settings" option that has an option that sets your avatar for the forums. When you delete or change your "main" picture in the regular 'edit profile' settings, that's when your forum avatar goes all blank and/or goofy.

Thanks for trying to help, and I have just checked out the photo set as my main, and it is different to the one that keeps coming up with my postings... a guitar I never liked very much!
The one on my main profile is my favourite wide-necked Squier Strat... a seven string with six spaced-out strings.
Now I will pursue the other suggestion.

I dont think you have that option if your not a paying account.
I dont know if you are, just thought I'd mention it.

Ofcourse, you can change it without paying.
Like Kramer said, head to My Account, click on Forum Settings (or so) and set the pic you want as the "main" pic. Remember to click update or it will not save your settings.

Yes thanks, the problem was that the site was rejecting my password, although everything else seemed to work okay which is strange.
Eventually the site help did come through and have given me a new password that makes it work fine... so here I am resplendent with the widest necked Strat in the world for my sausage fingers!
