somethings lacking here on bandmix. not sure what it is. but i think being able to contact others for free would be a good start. i mean, we want to see the goods first. i can chat anytime on the net at a million other places. this is like trying to start a fire with two wet noodles. what's up! when does the party start? show me something, and then i might whip out the wallet and ruffle the duckies around.

I kinda thought the same thing when I joined but then I thought about the fact that someone has to put all this together and manage it. If every thing was free on here then they would not get anything out of it. It cost like $8 a week just to post an ad in the paper around here. And there no garentee that your gonna find anything. How many musicians actual read a new paper. lol. Here you have the chance to meet people, make friends and find interested dedicated musicians. If you want free tape up an ad on a telephone pole. 8)

There's plenty of people there on Craigslist or backpage.com, but not the caliber of people here on Bandmix. If you're serious about music you need to pay for a membership here. Membership has its privleges and rewards. Later...

or for those of us who are broke for what ever reason you can always disclose too much info about yourself, thats not to say that I don't wish I could just click @ people cuz I have a few times buut I really don't get online often enough to warrant shelling out the few bucks I might have left every month

You've got a good point. I've been on bandmix, musicians forest, and meet your band sites (all about the same time) and this is the only site I've never been contacted on. Of course, it might have something to do with the fact that I'm old and not very good.

It's never too late to practice and get better.

Geeez..... I've always had a member of my band replaced in no time flat without laying out a single cent! Use your noggin. There are plenty of local sites that allow you to post up all different classifieds for absolutely nothing...nada....zilch... you will get a more promising result when you post in LOCAL craigslist, and other classifieds! So far I have replaced 4 drummers 3 bassists and 3 singers without missing a beat! It also helps to get the hell out to the clubs where maybe 4 or 5 bands are playing the same night... believe it or not, that attracts a lot of musicians who are scoping out band members themselves! I'm sorry... I find it demeaning and ridiculous to have to shell out $$$ just to find someone with similar interests....it's not a freakin' dating site for cripes sake!! :x

I dont know WTH is up with musician forest, but the site locks up on "loading page" every time. I've tried 3 different browsers from work and from home. Everything else online loads instantly. That site blows.

I've gotten some response from Criag's List and Musician Forest and Forming Bands, but the best people are on Bandmix. It's worth paying for.
