heroes, schmeroes......that never was all that to me.

don't get me wrong i always appreciated people like Beck, Clapton, Page, etc but never was any more enamored by what THEY did than the rest of their supporting crews.

and arguments about who was the better or best gtrst always struck me as incredibly goofy, not to mention being completely subjective and all about personal taste.

Yea, but at least there was something to argue about because there were innovative players stretching boundries back then.

chops and/or speed has never impressed me so i never signed on to any of that shred stuff and wheedily, wheedily tech masturbation. content baby, give me content.

Right there with ya on that. Not to diminish the ability of someone who is much faster than me....but gimme a heart-felt blues riff over that any day.

Hey I still perform baroque vocal music while busking. Pretty hip really...

I am with you planet on the solo gig. Music doesn't work very well solo for me. I need changes to bounce off of, and to have a conversation with other players. Must be a jazz thing. We used to do an acoustic duo and that had legs. Both could sing well together and we understood each other's moves. Some of my most fun musical memories.
