As well as giving music fans more exciting, immersive videos to watch, VR has great potential in the live music space as well.

"The sense of presence we can achieve in VR is incomparable to any other medium," says Jacek Naglowski, chief executive of Circus Digitalis, a Polish publisher that worked on one of the first cinematic VR music videos in Europe.

"Experiencing the concert in VR is something that people would be willing to pay for," he says. "In future it may be one of the most important revenue streams for musicians and producers."

Since I doubt any alte-kachers have a VR headset, you can at least spin the picture around on your computer using your mouse. It's not the same as experiencing VR, but a cool novelty over 2D videos nonetheless.

It only stutters if your computer and/or connection is weak. Let it play through once (or download the file) and it will be in cache memory and play smoothly.

If you're talking about the blues band in fishbowl, yea, I use a cheap camera ($700) for blogging because it's just easier to set up and edit, and goes with me everywhere. Not going to risk getting the good camera ($7000) knocked over at The Goat by a drunk unless it pays well. But a person has no idea what it looks like until you've seen it in a Gear VR or Occulus, anyway.

That's not what the article is about though. The BBC is telling you what I told you 2 years ago. VR will revolutionize live music and increase the ways (professional) musicians make their money, and allow a truly worldwide audience to attend a concert. Billions in attendance is no longer impossible. It's coming fast and hard, like it or not.

You could do an open mic to the world, if you were truly progressive. It's actually cheaper than you'd think.

I had a shot at getting the Live Nation production deal. I hate myself for not knowing who they were when I talked to them about how to use VR. Now I see that they took the lead in live VR concerts after I proposed the concept to the owner (based in Dallas) last year. He asked me to submit something in writing and I just didn't think he was serious. Oy.

I'm starting to get offers on my previous content, including exclusives on the Facebook channel, Blend Media, which has a potential audience of several billion people by the end of this year. Also starting several partnerships with photographers I've taught VR to. Maybe you'd like to see "VR Girls" more? I have to hang out with dozens of beautiful models in scant clothing to help them shoot that one. It will take off faster than their shirts when it is released.

Had a meeting at the Governor's office (Texas) with the TX Film Commission and the Office of Music about increasing tourism by exporting Texas music. They love the idea but have no budget for it. With their support, I could find a sponsor easily...just too busy with other things at the moment.
