Hey guys (I'm new here)

I just made this music website that you might be interested in. Its an online Battle of the bands where you pit your best track against your opponents. It's A good chance to get some honest feedback as well as seeing how you stack up agains the rest of the scene.

Let me know what you all think

You might want to reconsider the whole 'cover charge' thing - why would anyone want to pay to have other 'bands' rate their songs compared to theirs?
Also consider that not everyone wants to use Soundcloud as the tracks on that site can get really mangled by their compression format, and people can steal songs form that site too easily.

Good luck.

Yeah, I will run both free and paid rounds, which will just be for the people interested. The idea is that the highest rated band wins the round and the prize money associated with it. Obviously not all bands will be interested in that but want to allow it for the people who are.

I will eventually expand on the hosting options. If it get's enough traction I'll host the songs on the site. Just testing the waters for now :)

i've been a pro musician for some time now. (pro as in i actually insist on getting paid a fair wage).
over the yrs i've only played one Battle of The Bands (which PLANET JAZZ won for a nice payday) but there was no 'entry fee', and we never would have participated if there was.

i have never paid money to participate in a 'contest' with the hope of winning money (or for any other reason) and see no reason to start now. that's my situation. for others, maybe this would be a worthwhile endeavor.

all the same, good luck w it.

Yeah, the site is definitely for a subset of the general band population. I have had a polarised response but 90% of the feedback is very positive. I hope I can at least deliver a good service to those who are interested in this kind of thing :)
