I was contacted by a guy AJRube. He told me he was looking for a bassist, guitarist, keyboardist. I responded quickly, because I would love to play again. I don't know what changed in a day, but I got this response "Thanks for the quick reply. Based on what you've got posted I don't think our styles will mesh well so I don't want to waste your time. I hope you find what you're looking for!"
My only conclusion is that he must've seen something about my past addiction(which I have NO CRIMINAL RECORD). Not only that, when I went to respond, there was no replies allowed.
Let me just say, I find it highly disrespectful. I didn't contact him, he contacted me(I was very excited about jamming again). Also, I told him I will play anything. I have been playing music since before I could walk.
I'm not trying to be disrespectful, I just find it very offensive, that he contacted me, then blocked me.

Checked out your page and do about the same just limited country (very limited) and just could never get into rap. Hope you find some people to play with. Cheers.

Man, sometimes it's very hard to find that special like-minded person that draws you in musically and personally. I love a lot of people on this site and they're very good musicians but some don't have that special thing that turns on my brain. It's nothing personal and don't take it personally if you are rejected. I'm sure lots of people out there think I'm crazy but I don't care. People may love your playing but it doesn't 'click' w/ them. Everybody is different. That's what makes it so cool. And that's life in a nutshell.

Yes its important to not take things personal. Like I was contacted by a band here named Sinister Plague as I live in Flagstaff. Guy came out and had not even heard anything I've done. Was actually a cool day for me as I play for fun and enjoy myself. So we went out to a custom little shack/studio. Some may call this a excuse but I was born 75% deaf and it was correctly enough through surgery when I was 5 (was just fortunate as I got older I got a waiver for my hearing to join the military, one of my greatest accomplishments in life). So sounds if they are too mangled (doesn't matter the volume) its hard for me to parse them. I had asked them for a headset so I could actually follow the beat. They didn't have any. So like a deaf man trying to just wing it .. I winged it. Yes I know I shouldn't just do things randomly but I was having fun. And to me being serious when I can't hear sh*t doesn't matter (lol even his wife tried to talk to me as they played .. to not feel I was being rude just nodded to her here and there .. Couldn't even hear anything she said). Showed them some stuff after. And yes I know I'm raw and not the greatest. For me that day was amazingly fun regardless. As far as myself don't think I'll ever play with people openly given I can't parse sounds well. I don't go to concerts or even live functions for that very reason. Just all jumbled noise to me.

That sucks. That's the reason I always wear ear plugs. Every day at work. Every concert. Every jam session. My grandfather lost his hearing in a munitions plant in WWII. I don't want to end up like him. You ever come to Phoenix, Daniel?
