Have to wonder what the jury's qualifications for judging music similarities were. I watched the video/listened to the music yesterday. The only similarity (and it's barely there) is the percussion beat. Pharrell's attorneys f*ed up their defense by saying 'Pharrell was influenced by M Gaye'. Now they are contesting the verdict, it could go on for years.

Evidently, the jurors were not allowed to listen to the original Marvin Gaye recording, because the copyright was for the sheet music. So they hired someone to sing the lead melody and play some of hte parts - he probably copied the Pharrel/Thicke tune in his style!

I have no opinion on the matter, and refuse to listen to that blurred lines song voluntarily. Pharrel has more money than God. Just pay up. And stop singing falsetto all the time. Ironically, the review of the second NERD album was so spot on that it ruined any chance for me to enjoy his music ever again: "Pharrell, please stop singing falsetto. Curtis Mayfield, you ain't!". :D
