Without becoming a "Premium" member is there any other way to communicate with artist in my area, with-out using a forum?

Post on craiglist with your bandmix profile attached as a resume. It's a shot in the dark, but it's 1% better than sitting around waiting for these members to peep your profile. Just browse your area, you'll see most people don't visit very often. Good luck (hope you don't meet any flakes or psychopaths)!

Two of my current band mates were BM finds but I don't think anyone was a premier member. We would take the names/details and hit google or Facebook and Voila! Contact!

Go to the local music shops you'll find local musicians! And it is likely that the people working there know plenty of them. It's funny because I was working with a drummer and we both are on bandmix but we met at work. I met the most musicians at local shops we have a "Guitar Center"

Maybe GCs are different where you are, but around here there's a ton of 'noodlers' there every weekend, playing the same boring scales too loudly.
fishermanbob wrote:Worse comes to worse you become a Premier member fora month. Send out as many messages as you can. But be prepared for little response. I have gigged with several people I contacted here, but also tell EVERYBODY YOU KNOW, even total strangers, who you are looking for. Get a business card for yourself and hand it out like water. Everbody knows at least one musician.
Yeah, it's only $10 for a month. But Bob is right - get out and meet musicans at gigs, open mics, any place other players hang out (the best musicians don't hang out at GC, they go to it - if at all - for whatever piece of equipment they need, then leave pronto!)

Maybe he meant the crazy collage of "looking for..." notes and phone numbers hanging in the entryway to Guitar Center? I've browsed those, but it's mostly teens playing screamo metal or Spanish bands looking for a tuba.
