My son Aaron Reed died at the age of 21 in Buffalo, NY. He was an accomplished musician. In his short career, he was a founding member of two Columbia, MD bands, The Runways (2006-2010) and New World Commotion (2010-2014). While spending time in Dublin, Ireland he also recorded a solo album. Aaron lived and breathed music. He wrote constantly and his lyrics are deep and insightful for such a young man. He lived meagerly but gave so richly. His passion for music was endless. He lived his dreams every day and his memory will continue through his love for music.
The Pick Me Up Foundation was created in Aaron’s memory to provide musical instruments, equipment, and lessons to under resourced kids. The PMU Foundation is named after the last song Aaron was working on, Pick Me Up, with his band mates in Buffalo. Our hope is that every time a child has the opportunity to learn and appreciate music Aaron’s spirit will live on as well. We have partnered with Goo Goo Dolls bass player Robby Takac's charity Music is Art (http://www.musicisart.org) to help under resourced children know the joy of music
The PMU foundation is collecting instrument on Nov 22 in Columbia MD although we will take them anytime
