Saw this on the news this afternoon, they were playing "Sunshine of Your Love" during the announcement...shame to lose such a great musician, I was hoping after the brief reunion Cream would give it another try but I guess that's not going to ever happen now.

Jack Bruce was a major role model (as a player) for me; a real head banging getting it done sort of guy. Heavy enough for Cream, yet subtle enough for Lou Reed's Berlin. Jack was the man.

Here is Jack Bruce in his heyday - playing with Buddy Guy.

I'm very sad that the reunion didn't come to my neck of the woods. Even my favorite band went to the LA show.
I saw Ginger Baker with an early nineties band, Masters Of Reality. I also saw Eric Clapton on his smooth R&B tour in '98. Jack is the only one I didn't get to see. Which is totally my fault. His style of playing low and heavy, while singing high and powerful vox has always been tops in my book. RIP, Jack.

Al DiMeola had some kind words about Jack Bruce, and I did not know DiMeola and Jack Bruce played professionally together until today when I read his eulogy ..

great bass player that he was...it's easy to overlook what an amazing singer he was. his singing style was as dynamic, recognizable, and individual as approach to bass.
