General Music Chat

I wanna know if anyone is into the new wave of garage/lo-fi and is actively writing for or involved in a local garage rock scene. Ive been getting into a bunch of these artists both current and from 10-14years ago, including but not limited to:

Wavves
Fidlar
Jacuzzi boys
Nobunny
Bass drum of death
Jay reatard

post any artists that either currently relevant to this scene or that influenced this sound, lyrical patterns tempo, distortion techniques etc.

I'm not claiming to be too deep into this stuff, but check out anything by Lou Barlow. He played bass in Dinosaur Jr, got kicked out by band leader-J Mascis. He had always made a lot of music on 4-track, and long story short, formed Sebadoh, with Jason Leowenstein and Folk Implosion. You might already know this, but I doubt too many other people here do.
Another band I've been into since the late nineties is Brian Jonestown Massacre. They are like a cult, led by (of course) a charismatic leader, who is insane. They make music that mostly sounds like it's from the sixties. I saw a band called Sic Alps open for Sonic Youth in '10. I got two of their CDs, they're like buskers (street performers).
They trip me out, because they experiment with playing out of tune, out of time, slurred lazy vocal delivery and yet, it can actually sound really good. I find that impressive. I couldn't pull that off.
I have another site that I haunt. I'll check there for more stuff. We're always recommending music to each other.

I've heard great things about him, and enjoyed the few songs I've heard. I just do n't know where to start.
