The band that I have gone the farthest in, I was recruited off of bandmix. We were in the process of a negotiations from a local label, when I separated from the military and left Alaska for Oregon, to be closer to family and get out of the "fast life" I was living. So I know for a fact that Bandmix does work, it's sad to see the forums so dead nowadays.
After the break up of my most professional sounding band, and the one I have been most proud of, 2 years ago, I hung my bass up. But, I am currently writing for another project that will be starting up next year. It will be a huge step away from what I am used to and more into my musical passion of experimental/progressive.
I thought I was done with music for good, but after reading sanshouheil's post about going to audition a couple of months ago, I knew I had to move away from the over saturated, over done metal scene and really pursue my musical passion if I ever wanted to be anything more that "just another nameless guy in a nameless band going no where." So, thanks for the motivation, buddy.
Here's hoping to one more success story.
