Hey Gang,
I figure I have 20 good years left in this life..I dont dont wanna spend them learning what I shoulda STARTED learnin 20 yrs ago...SO....I thought I would pick the brains of those who HAVE kept up...
Ive tracking on an Fostex MR16 which Ive come to understand pretty good...However, has tons of features Ill never use...Most of what I see out there that has what I really want, ends up having stuff like drum/rhythm capabilities and computer junk Ill never use.
My first main ? IS...Is there much difference in 16 and 24 bit?...All I want is a machine with good EFX like the gtr amp/distortion and MIC (for vocals)simulator like the MR16 has, 24 bit (if better), on board CD burner,Some EQ parameters which are very limited on the MR16...AND best of all fairly simple to use for an old analog guy...AND under 1000 bucks does such an animal exist?..I read some reviews and most of the NEG.have to do with the mixing down to 2 trk and burning the CD..Loss of highs and quality.....What would be some of your recommendations?
Thanks,
John
