I think that's either one of my next tunes or maybe another band I am halfway thinking about working with...they need a new name.

"Dimly Lit World"...either that or it may be back to "Asteroid Suicide Cult" lol

Depends on how heavy I can get them to be..

The "Kool Aid Nikes" sort of has a nice ring to it ....

Money, money, money, talked about more on this forum then music, religion, or politics.

There not giving much money away, so if money's what you want, how come you don't go make all the money you want, your the only one stopping you.

Music, music, music, it pays hidden priceless dividends to my soul.

There are still many around the world of all ages who love jazz and will notice Mr. Hall's passing.

I never said otherwise .....
"The money making potential of jazz music has been diminishing since the mid-sixties, relative to rock and other pop. So yes, one would have to have motivations that run deeper than money to pursue an interest in jazz music. But this is nothing new ... it's been that way for decades. "
I never commented on the financial motivations of Jazz guys one way or the other .....
and finally
Do I need to tell you that Jerry Garcia wore a dark T-shirt?
FYI - Jerry didnt always wear black - he had a red period for a few tours.

I def think so - the real question should be does the world care about that music enough anymore for anyone to notice ?

That depends on how small and dimly lit your world is.

Yeah well I'm betting that Jazz Music is selling less not more these days.
Only people who listen to Jazz guitars are other musicains.
Every music school is filled with talent but I doubt your CD buying budget will feed them all.

"the real question should be does the world care about that music enough anymore for anyone to notice ?"
... why would you say this should be the "real" question?

Never noticed Garcia's red shirt period. I saw them play only once, back in 1974 at the Hollywood Bowl.

Because it was rhetorical ! Sheesh ! More people should listen to jazz ! And that is my snarky response to them !

Trouble Ahead Jerry In Red
google for enlightenment .....

Dag Vinny I would have loved to have seen that 74 show. That is the Dead at what some say is their peak.
My 1st year was '86 in Philly during the " Red Shirt " year.

Tsk! And I thought you was sincere!

It was a great show for sure! During the Commander Cody set, some kindly Deadheads in the row behind us gave us some Purple Micro-Dots ... by mid way through Maria Muldaur's set, the Dead's pa system was dancing with the vegetation surrounding the Bowl.

The Dead set was excellent!!! ... not that I would have much of an objective opinion under those circumstances

Wrong boys - the REAL question is does it matter if the world cares about music anymore.

I submit that music is worth doing for its own sake. How many of us could quit playing our instruments, like we would quit a job we don't like?

I have basically quit, since the arthritis makes it hurt to play.. now if there was some sort of Pavlov Dog response thing going on, say $1,000.00 to do a 1 hour set I might just live with the pain.. (and progressive damage I am causing to my joints by playing)
