not long ago i posted a request for your unused "string labels" that come in the clear plastic envelope w the mfgr's name, model of the set, etc. or the cardboard boxes that are now more commonly being used my most mfgrs.

i've been wallpapering my music room w these and it has been a very long and ongoing project. though i have many string instruments and do change strings regularly, well, that only goes so far. and so....my request for help.

right now as it stands i've received only ONE care pkg from my cohorts at BM. Lynard Dylan was kind enough to send me one label. and that's been it from you deadbeats! gee, and i thought we was all buds here 'n all. )-:

seriously, let me know if you can help out and put a few aside for me when you get around to changing strings. i'll be happy to reimburse your shipping/pstg cost.

thanks.

If you had asked for beer bottle caps, Jeff could have covered your house by now!

shoot Mark, I am not sure the one I've got, fits the criteria, you are welcome to it, but, it is not a cardboard type within a clear poly wrapper, the wrapper I have is poly? with print on it? posted a photo of it at the Ernie Ball thread, but will ship to you if it passes the inspection LOL...

Have you tried the local GC or Sam Ash... most have a guitar tech on site doing set-ups. They've got to be good for a few restrings a day.
Just sayin.

yeah, it's gotta be the paper style insert or the cardboard box (which i then trim down to use just the top/front side).

those foil pkgs won't work. :(

thanks for thinking of me just the same, dane!

Sorry Mark but I use D'Addario strings and they are greenie weenies! I buy them in a 10 pack box. No labels in there whatsoever. They come in plastic with the six strings wound up in 3 pairs. With the save the planet movement there is no paper used only a cardboard box! I swear by those strings! I used earnie balls for close to 30 years and they were always popping. When I changed to these D'Addario no more problems with string breakage. I know I know the guy at the music store says all those companies use the same wire and use the same machines to manufacture their strings. To that I say the proof is in the pudding!

no worries jeff. thanks for weighing in, buddy.

i'm a d'addario fan myself.

XL 220's (40-95) nickel wound and CHROMES ECB80 flatwounds for bass (40-95)

XL 110W and CHROMES flatwounds for my archtops (for flats i prefer Thomastiks..but damn they're expensive!)

Mr. Haley and Planet

My brother talked me into switching too D'addario and I'm glad he did. They really ring. I use their version of Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkies and I haven't looked back. On my new guitar (Firebird) they set a sort of standard for sustain pretty much anywhere on the neck.

They stay fresh longer than Slinkies and various other brands as well. But boy are they low frills. I'd kind of prefer if they were in packs like Slinkies but if that Green stuff makes 'em feel good - bless their hearts.
