I took down 3 and put up 3 new (I think they are new to here?) Have at it.

The first is called taken. I wrote the music and chorus lyrics. My drummer who was 13 at the time wrote the verse lyrics. We still record. He is 18 and teaches drums for a living. He is awe inspiring with his talent maturity and general good attitude. Dan Mullins played bass on this track. I handled guitars and vox. Drew Lawhorn is the drummer. We cut this one in Southwest recording Studio with Chuck Crush at the controls.

The second is a cover of Hendrix version of E King's (come on) let the good times roll. The video for that track is in my youtube vids on the profile. I played Guitars, bass, and sang it. Drew Lawhorn still 13 here played the drums. I recorded everything at Q99 radio station where I worked.

The third track is called notnemo. I played guitars and bass and sang this one. I wrote it in about '94. This was a rush job on the mix down. Laws rushing played the drums on this one. He was in school at MTSU and this was his recording project. This was from my time in Murfreesboro.

cool man . notnemo is my favorite. i can tell the mix is a rush job but it's a very cool song with very cool changes. if you could re record it i think it would sound good as a retro 80's production. you know 80s meets 2008. i think that would be over the top..but as it sits it is a very cool and original tune. ps if you could get mark king (i think thats the name for level 42's bassist) to play the bass line it would be sick.. hey a man can dream right...

Dude, all sound cool, but "Let the Good Times Roll"

That kills me bro.

You nail that, with all the personality you put into the vocals.

That kind of stuff makes me your fan!

Good job Paul. I like "Taken" the best. "Come On" could have been a little longer for me. Rock on!

Paul,

I too am becoming a big Neanderpaul fan.

"Taken" it rocks! I especially like the bridge at 1.48.

"Let the good times roll" , Thought ya didn't like to do covers? Anyways, it's a good one! I like it as much as Dr. John's version). good job.

"Notnemo" My least favorite of the three, but still a bubbly and "up" little pop ditty. All in all , pretty cool and definitely worth a listen....later

ah yes the big man is rockin the house yet again....

first off "taken' is my pick of the bunch....yet again it reminds me of "nick the old bass player from the queens) when he sang lead...good energy and vibe....cant really find too much that i didnt like...

goodtimes roll...sounded cool to me... untill howlin said it was a cover i thought it was one of your own  vocals sound killer on this one..sweet.

notnemo....i love the guitar melody but i dont think the vocal works all the time...it comes and goes....but i like the feel of it...its interesting and original...and i always like that

great work paul....you have your s hit nailed down to the floor....oh yes..

NeanderPaul,

Awesome job on "Taken," that is a great song.

"(Come on) Let The Good Times Roll," this is a catchy tune and well played, great guitar playing man! I actually played a good guitar solo over the end of this one, some good improvisation never hurts!

"Notnemo," also a well done piece man, fun to solo too also, lol. These are some great riffs.

Nice job on the vocals on all of the songs.

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

Alright! It looks like the "core" has spoken. Thanks to all for the feedback.
Da Skunk, level 42's bass player is THE MAN! I can dream about that too. :D

Craig, Very flattering for you especially to dig the vox. thank you!! 8)

Jimmy, If I could play guitar like you I would stretch "come on" out a little longer. I just have modest guitar skills. I do like a verse chorus short solo format, but like I said If I was half the player you are I would make it at least 2 verses long of solo.

HowlinJ, That bridge on taken is the closest to death metal or "mojo jojo" vox you'll ever hear outta me! That is a fun song to play. I like covers "in moderation" In a gig setting I used to like 3 covers to 12 originals. I'll bump that up to 5 covers and 10 originals as I've mellowed with age.

IA, I really appreciate all you said! I do a version of "the longest time" I'll post it on the the next bunch of 3. I love some of Billy Joel's work.

GA that's a great compliment that you played along with my tunes! And to say great guitar playing really makes my day. I try really hard at that.

A little curious history on notnemo. First the title means not anymore. The song started with my first method of playing on my first instrument. I would strum the d and g strings of the bass while fretting a melody on the g. I played it like a guitar - sort of the way the edge plays guitar. The first version of this song had 2 basses, 2 vox, and 2 kazoos over a cheesy keyboard beat. I guess I only put the high bass part in this version. I can see redoing notnemo (for something like the 4th or 5th time.) One day I'll get it right.
