Yeah we musicians want to be comedians and comedians want to be musicians. Most of my jokes make people groan; come to think of it so does my music.

You know, come to think of it, the beginning of "California Dreamin'" did make me feel like I was going to convulse... Lmao.

Neh, just kidding with ya'.

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

Your fishing for compliments like a girl now. LOL

You know damn well we like your stuff. :-)

If I had a CD of the NoVox instrumentals you have shared, I would pop in the CD player when driving, and listen to the whole thing before taking it out. From me, that is high praise brother!

And your voice is enjoyable too bro. You are not a super strong vocalist, so what? That seems to be more and more rare these days anyway, though I haven't figured out why yet.

That song you sing that your dad wrote the lyrics as a poem. Your style of voice made that VERY enjoyable to me. I would drive around listening to that too.

... I have been subjected to bad things, but that was probably the worst yet... Craig if you ever post another video like that again, understand I will drop dead...

Now I am traumatized, again... I get it, you people here like to traumatize me, why not, mess with the spoiled 19 brat! I know your games! Well you cannot win!

vocalists? I don't hear very many these days. Is there anybody new today like Jim Morrison, Robert Plant, Joe Cocker, Bon Scott, etc.? I don't hear it. Maybe the reason why is that far too many children today are on some kind of psychiatric medication (ritalin, etc.) and it's messing up their vocal chords. So many of the current crop of popular male singers sound WHIMPY. Maybe that's the style everyone is going for. Maybe a more sensitive voice is popular. I don't get it. A few years ago we auditioned literally dozens of lead singers (I was getting tired of being the only lead singer AND playing bass at the same time.) Every single one that came over had NO POWER. I had their microphone and my microphone and the PA settings exactly the same and I just blew them away power-wise. I don't really consider myself that powerful a vocalist either. Anyway it's a mystery to me. Maybe someone has some theories on this. Later...

I've always been regarded as a strong vocalist and "harp"(not Irmy's kind) player. The reason? I have developed my abdominal muscles way back in high school. A bit of wrestling practice and a little yoga exercise goes a long way to create the physiology to belt out rockin' blues. I hate to say it , but too many of our young people (and even more oldsters), have "soft bellies"in our land today.

Fisherman Bob, I got some theories on this.

The sound today seems to call for a more high pitched, screaming, wailing, annoying, vocal type. Thus we have a rash of singers, like My Chemical Romance, who have no talent. They just like to yell.

Then you have the death metal bands who like to sound like demons and growl.

All and all, it has something to do more so with the style of music we are doing now than the drugs we are taking (I think...).

Here are some good vocalists of right now, Myles Kennedy (From a rock band called Alter Bridge, a bit screechy, but not bad) and the lead singer of a band called Shinedown. Those are probably the only genuine rock voices left, lol. Unless you count older bands who are still performing, then we have a couple more, like Collective Soul and Pearl Jam (Eddie Vedder is the lead singer).

The truth is, we will never have the talent that they possessed years ago. Even my favorite band, Metallica, their lead singer (James Hetfield) has a weak voice now, it has totally gone from all of the drinking and drugs. He use to have a lot of power in the 90's.

Well, that is my take on this.

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

LOL - You got that right!

So, woah, I didn't realize he set his songs for download, so in case it was a mistake, I'm downloading them right now! ;-)

Casette huh?

Why don't you get one of those casette adapters or an FM one, and you can just play it through an MP3 player? MP3 players, if you don't have one, are cheap as hell these days for low end ones. You can find 1gig ones on sale for $30 bucks if you look.

LOL

I thought it was really Britney at first, cause it sounds just like her.

I was originally looking for the real Amy Winehouse performance, and that came up. I was thinking that I had never heard her stuff before, and with all the attention she gets now (mostly bad) I wondered what she sounds like. But I have heard the Rehab song.

She has a really good voice and the styling, is almost as good as a Billie Holiday (another drug addicted blues/torch singer). She lays it on so thick in places though, it seems a little fake. And maybe I shouldn't even put her in the same class with Billie, but she really is good. Sucks she is so f**k up though, and classless too.

Absolutely download them. I can't sell them but I can give them away! And thank you Craig, that was very kind. I probably sing better on originals, I only sing on covers if there's no one else to do the job. In fact, that's how NoVox came about - I had a bunch of decent tracks with no vocals.

It's going on a CD tonight, so I can play it tomorrow. I'll be driving around all day.

Let me know when you upload more, cause I probably could fit 20 of them on a CD and I would like all of them I bet, cause I like everything you posted so far. I feel bad though. It's almost stealing.
