Religion = pick a team and begin calling your team and yourself superior

If you don't know right from wrong, you don't need religion. You need empathy.

If God exists, do you need a building, a book, or another man to find him?

Take responsibility for your own self, and stop making gods and devils your scapegoats!

Just like you can't turn a whore into a housewife, you can't expect people to learn something they never understood to begin with.

You got the right idea, Hayden. It's a might unpopular, but many things are these days.

It's the decade of the "ends justify the means" and we'll be paying in spades sooner or later.

Today more than ever, that's the assumption of religion.. There was a time however, when communities stayed cohesive, if only from sharing religion. Now its a self-centered, selfish, thoughtless and inconsiderate community at work.

If you don't know right from wrong, you don't need religion. You need empathy.

Empathy from others ? or empathy from within?

If God exists, do you need a building, a book, or another man to find him?

If you expect to 'serve' God... You need:

1) an HQ (i.e a church building often suffices)
2) a guideling (i.e the book)
3) a mentor (i.e Minister, priest, etc').

If you dont believe in serving anyone beyond self, , then you dont really need any of the above.

Take responsibility for your own self, and stop making gods and devils your scapegoats!

Totally agree. Too many folks who try to dodge the effort to align themselves with common sense about life. They'd rather blunder through their trials and then blame God or the devil for their own mistakes and short-comings.

As for the folks who don't believe in a God... many of them practice the same shortfalls as those who believe in God do.. But instead of blaming God's and Devils, They blame Governments and societies.

Basically you're saying, "Be your own god"

What a self-absorbed philosophy? No thanks, I'll take the Truth instead.

and how did you come to that conclusion?
Did I even once deny the existence of God, or claim no need for God?

The separatists in religion always look for a wedge... one of the reasons I avoid it.
I don't need any of religions trappings to have a relationship with God. Nor will I allow them to distance me from him/her/it.

I do not choose sides. If there is only one God, then why are there sides?
By God?
Or by man?!

Just like Government. Let the people agree with you, than you can start passing LAWS that have nothing to believe, with, what you VOTED for.

It's not religion that put you in jail for a little bit of marijuana. It was a government that YOU, HAYDEN, has allowed.

Hayden,I'm the last person to sit in judgement of something as stupid as a pot bust. DAYUM Hayden... let's place the blame squarely where it belongs.

FOR your information... Just to show you how strict the laws can become when you turn over control to GOVERNMENT.
In N.Y. ... My wife has always been a playful girl. UNDER THE LAW, EVEN HER PLACING HER HAND NEAR MY CROTCH CAN BE DEEMED AS A LEWD ACT. FULLY CLOTHED IN PUBLIC. The Law is the LAW.

Officer she was just reaching, to hold my hand.

I don't see religion being as dangerous as an out of control government. Unless you want to blame the Catholics for throwing you in prison.

Any way Hayden... that whole thing sucked for you... I don't think it was right.

Hayden, it is a short hop from religious zealots... to political zealots.

You used to have the saying... Stick your head in the sand, you leave your asss in the air.

I guess they got to you after all. :(

Egypt’s VP Links Boston Bombing to Global Islamic Jihad – Is He Right?
April 20, 2013 at 12:40 AM

The Vice President of Egypt’s Freedom & Justice Party today linked the Islamic Jihad in Boston to the broader issues and strategies of the global Islamic Movement. Speaking about the events in Boston Essam al-Erian stated in an interview, “This series of events began with the sending of French battalions to Mali in a war against organizations that are said to belong to al Qaeda.” He links all acts of jihad together as being part of one great war. Are they? And is what America experienced in Boston just one battle in a much larger war?

At his sentencing, Faisal Shahzad, the “Time Square Bomber,” stated: “If I am given a thousand lives, I will sacrifice them all for the sake of Allah fighting this cause, defending our lands, making the word of Allah supreme over any religion or system. We Muslims don’t abide by human-made laws, because they are always corrupt… I say to them, we don’t accept your democracy nor your freedom, because we already have Sharia law and freedom. ..Brace yourselves, because the war with the Muslims has just begun. Consider me only the first droplet of the flood that will follow me.”

Remembering that Shahzad was trained in Pakistan and built a car bomb with materials that raised no red flags with U.S. law enforcement, and the bomb – according to the FBI – would have killed up to a thousand people that day (but for the fact he used M-88′s (50 mg of powder) instead of M-80′s (3 grams of powder) as initiators we should recognize our good fortune and also the Jihad on our soil for the threat it is.

Since 9/11 there have been many acts of Jihad in America. Have we forgotten them? The Boston Bombing was not the first, second or even third attack since 9/11. Lets review.

John Allen Mohammed (“Beltway Sniper”) killed at least 10 people. Writings by his partner Lee Boyd Malvo indicated the attacks were acts of Jihad.

Major Nidal Malik Hasan killed 13 people and wounded 32 at Ft Hood in an act of Jihad – yelling Allah u Akbar as he began shooting.

Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad (aka Carlos Bledsoe) killed Army Private Andy Long and wounded Private Quinton Ezeagwula at the Army recruiting depot in Little Rock, Arkansas. He called his actions “jihad.”

Mohammed Taheri-Azar drove over 9 people at the University of North Carolina in 2006. According to letters he sent to the local ABC station, he did so because “Allah gives permission in the Koran for the followers of Allah to attack those who have raged war against them, with the expectation of eternal paradise in case of martyrdom and/or living one’s life in obedience of all of Allah’s commandments found throughout the Koran’s 114 chapters.”

Omeed Popal killed one and wounded 14 by driving over them with his car in the San Francisco area. Popal was overheard by witnesses calling himself a “terrorist.” Police stated he was heard shouting “Allah u Akbar” while driving.

Naveed Ofzal Haq, a Pakistani, forced his way into the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle (Washington) and screamed “I am a Muslim-American and I am mad at Israel,” and then killed one woman.

Eighteen year old Sulejman Talovic, a Muslim, killed 5 people in a Salt Lake City, Utah shopping mall before being gunned down by an off-duty police officer. Some witnesses said they hear Talovic shout “Allah u Akbar.”

This list, which is not all-inclusive, does not even mention the list of jihadis arrested before they acted. This is meant to give readers an understanding that Jihad is here in America, and is here to stay.

The first Al Qaeda attack in America was the 1990 assassination of Jewish Defense League leader Meir Kahane by El Sayyid Nosair, whose Jihadi cell was responsible for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

It is worth noting – all of these Muslims got their Islam wrong in exactly the same way.

Twenty years later the Jihadi activity in America is increasing rapidly. When will we be proactive to deal with this threat in a professional and measured way, before that option becomes unavailable?
