I wonder how the band on the titanic got there gig.Was there a manager involved or was it a band leader that had some popularity
that was a must for this voyage and grand event. Was this there big break.I wonder how much it paid,I mean they were not in it for the free voyage.I would think for a band this is a big deal gig.Well what ever they were brought on to play and entertain and that they did all the way up onto the last,Hey man when you gotta go you could be doing a lot worse than playing a tune.

Thanks Jimmy I find it interesting they were simply known as "the band" Hmm seems I know of another group that was simply known as the band. The trio that joined them at the last was interesting as well. They were on their way to the top as well it seems. This is also interesting as we have indeed lost some good ones to tragic accidents.
I.E. Buddy Holly,Stevie Ray Vaughn to name a few.

Hate that ship, always will, never read anything on it at all. Watched the film (Of course), both of them. Hated them both, hate the cold, hate the thought of deep water, hate the iceberg, despise stupid people who think they are 'forever'. Loved the ship however....... But it can stay there, where it lays.

It's rather cute that the article Jimmy kindly posted makes it out as though the BandLeader had a choice coming from Cunard. I rather suspect it is, as it is now. They choose you from the gathering, only there were less of them to choose from. My Dad played many boats. All of them were favors and people he knew + huge talent of course.

Lungs get cold, fill with water, you lose orientation, panic, you see other dying in the cold, YOU want them to help YOU, can't breath, you panic more. Yep! A great way to go huh?

Try stabbing yourself in the chest with a sharpened fork while having sex with the girl you've always wanted. Another GREAT way to go! :D

So chipfryer you made your point on drowning in the ocean, but what has that got to do with the simple twist of fate that happened because a bunch of guys got the chance to play on a cruise liner.Hey they were there to play with aspirations that something better might come out of it.Sounds pretty much what a lot of musicians look for if there's a chance they might get an even better gig.

I prefer when she uses the icepick to the chest while I'm "finishing" all over the place. Makes for a great forensic crime scene, and movie apparently.
