you are not the judge and jury when it comes to appropriate posts John.. I could point out dozens of hijackings on other threads much more off topic then my comment..(which was not derogatory at all, and was semi-related to the point some were trying to get across))

Dane

For goodness sakes. I apologize but I'm not sure I know who Kenny G is. I remember a controversy here about KG and some other act but I had no dog in that hunt.

I posted the song with the idea of getting constructive criticism. I certainly have gotten that and I'm very grateful.

Do not assume that I'm blind to problems in the recording (or deaf, as it were 8) ) But you can't imagine how helpful it is to me to have creditable players spot the places I thought were bad, spotting places that were bad that I'd missed, offering suggestions that can only help me play and record better, and finally, a couple guys even noticed the rhythmic nuances I tried for and often missed.

Plus I was pleased that a lot of folks got what I was shooting for and seemed cool with it. That helped a lot because I was myself very dis-satisfied with the deliverable.

Thanks again to everyone and you may believe I'm taking your suggestions to heart.

HA HA HA. I'm laughing because even some one as talented and stable as you can fall under attack.

Dane I sorta, kinda, havta back up John. I really think he has his stuff together. Even worse he has written some GREAT SONGS and wish he would share more. He is also a great player that loves Les Pauls and Mesa. That gives him 20 million points right there. Sorry he doesn't have a problem.

That was interesting as well.

I find it to be a tad slow BPM wise.

It has an odd feel to it, like it's pseudo-punk. (imo)
That's probably why I think it should be slightly faster.

Before main vocals kicked in, I thought it was going to be something 311 ish.

I'd also ask in the future that you kick your bass volume down a little, it wasn't really all that tight and for what you are doing, I'd think you want that bass sound to be slightly tighter.

Otherwise, that was different and fairly cool.
I'm sure you could fill some seats with this type of show.

Thanks Scott - after listening I felt that the vocal came in kind of lethargically. I think the drummer was the initial problem but looking at it over all I blame myself. I should have forced the issue.

The drummer kept telling me the tempo was 'off.' Flashing a metronome and all that high school sh*t. Ultimately, it was there but he didn't feel it.

I think I may actually have to put together an outfit - some guys who are warped enough to get down into it and try some off the wall sh*t. Too bad you aren't here in the wilds outside Atlanta! 8)
