Well so far I've digitized 135 albums, almost 700 songs. I had to buy a 1tb external hard drive, I filled up the drive on the computer I'm using. Each album is anywhere from 300-500mb, so space gets eaten quickly. Last night I did David Gilmour's "About Face", one of the cleanest I've done. A couple of songs had NO issues. Generally I fix 50-100 defects per album. I love Audacity, the drawing tool and the ability to copy and paste sections lets me restore a song to as good as the first time I heard it.

That's a lot of work. Make sure you backup your work onto another drive (or 2), into a cloud server and/or discs.

Well I burn a CD for each album as I go, plus the files are the hard drive and the external drive so I think I'm covered.

WAV files or mp3? those WAV files really eat up the space.. but of course are much higher quality for listening

Wave files. I only make an MP3 if I need to post it here. I computed that I should be able to store 2,500 albums on my 1tb drive.

Pete, our engineer/bass player brought over a bunch of cool albums for me last night, from Stanley Clarke to West, Bruce and Laing.

That's cool . . . I have a small collection of LP's left over.
They do not, but collect dust.
