I was bored.
I was hungry.
So, I made some sandwiches and wrote a thread about it.

If you don't have a lot of money to eat off of, like me, you'll probably be making a lot of sandwiches to subsist on.

This gets old.

So, it helps to change things up a bit.

First, get three slices of bread, Texas Toast if you got 'em. Make sure you've stocked up on it. You're gonna need it.
Then, get some decent pasta sauce...a REALLY BIG jar or jug of it, family size.
Then, get some meat. Chicken or turkey works best. But, bologna will do if you haven't got anything else. Microwave chicken patties are excellent, but costly over time. Same goes for tofurkey or soy chicken substitutes.
If you wanna get fancy and add some mozzarella, that is fine too.

Make a normal sandwich with two pieces of bread and meat.
Pour sauce & cheese over top, without spilling over the sides.
You can substitute with salsa if you like.
Add third slice of bread on top of that.
Why?
Because the extra bread soaks up the sauce, so you don't spill it everywhere you sloppy pig.
You can sprinkle a little hot sauce in there too if you like.
Hot or cold, this will keep you from starving today.
It also tastes good.

(Important tip if you are poor or about to lose your job: stock up on lots of spices. It helps make cheap & nasty food more tolerable.)

That really sucks Mike. I don't really know you, I don't know if I even like you.
But... Stop by here and I'll offer you what I have.

Hey Mike, That's not bad...

Here's some more tips

One Large can of "RANCH STYLE beans
One package of Hotdogs...(Walmart sells em cheap)
One package of Hotdog buns..
1/2 Onion

Dice the onion, mix in and heat with the beans.
Zap the dogs (make sure they are in water so they get plump)
Place dog in bun, and smother with the beans
Ranch Style dogs for everyone...! These are especially excellent on cold days...

lol What no Ramen?

I thought all of us were eating that sh*t. (all the poor ones at least)
I eat more Ramen than I care to admit.

My buddy calls it "RRRRRR ------- Amen" and we can almost skip the grace portion of the meal. lol

Curry powder in chicken ramen ain't bad, or maybe some rotisserie chicken spice.
I used to get mushroom chicken ramen and add real mushrooms to it.
But, I think it has been discontinued.

Ramen powder in instant mashed potatoes ain't bad, especially if you've got some gravy too.

a 28 oz. box of 10 Minute Cream of Wheat goes along way too.. I hate the 2-1/2 minute Cream of Wheat though.. Polk County Discount the local distressed food grocer had 15 boxes of the 10 minute variety (yellow box) and I picked up 3 boxes at $2.50 a box.(it has expiration date of Apr. 2014)y.generally hard to find the 10 minute variety which is what restaurants serve.. thinking about going and getting the rest of the boxes since the River is selling 4 packs for 18 dollars and change..and that's a sale price too..
