The difference is Mike when in the deep south the white guys are prosecuted extra heavily and given life sentences for "hate crimes" but when you reverse the situation to black on white the perpetrator is treated like a HERO! Sorry that happened to you its especially messed up when someone that can't defend themselves is victimized.

We ( the wife and I ) went to a nice little restaurant in Jefferson Tx last night in celebration with a good friend & her family on her birthday.

There was a very talented cat playing piano and singing.
His name is Winston Hall AKA "Piano Man".

I could gush, but ill keep it short.
I was enjoying his work, and tipped him a couple of times. After asking for some R&R he asked what era, I said 70's.

The amount of material this dude knows is staggering.
His ability to take practically any genre' and convert it to "piano bar listenable" material without losing all the flavor was also phenomenal.

On my way out I stopped by to talk and thank him.
I told him that I'd not enjoyed myself in a "piano bar" since New Orleans 1981:

Guys who play piano bars have to have an almost-infinite play list, as well as good instinct on how to deliver the songs. Haven't been to one in years - last time, the guy started 'Summer Breeze' (Seals & Croft), and when he got to the bridge ('when I come home, from a hard day's work ...') I started singing it loud and he thanked me at the end because he couldn't hit those notes!

The second time I was mugged I was packed. Quite a different result. I'm very sorry to relate though that I failed to get off any good lines and the bad guys just split.
