It is reasonable to change your own oil.
Don't dump it in the woods where nobody can see you or find it.
No args there
Code: Select allIt is reasonable to gather garbage from large cities and biodegrade what can be
and separate metal and plastics and tires and recycle them.
It is not reasonable to load it on a barge and dump it in the ocean.
Your point is good, however, it is a fact that the United State Navy, and every civilian Luxary-liner in the world dumps tons of garbage into the ocean each year. The law requires U.S. to dump 50 + miles off shore. As for the impact, the salt in the ocean erodes most of it and breaks it down with 12-18 months (my figures might be off). However, the real problem is during that window when certain sea life gets trapped in it.
It's a mindset Dog. Walmart recycles the cardboard from all the boxes every
morning from restocking the shelves. It has nothing to do with giving up things.
It has everything to do with doing it, making it, controlling it right the first time
from the start with an environmental mindset. Walmart uses HEUs in their restrooms. (High Efficiency Urinals)
Re; Mindset...Walmart purchases products from the lowest bidders, (a matter of record). Most lowest bidders have to outsource overseas to meet the Walmart criteria of cost margins. One reason they can acquire best prices overseas, is because the costs do not include the license to pollute (env regs not the same overseas) . It doesn't matter what Walmart is doing with urinals in America... when you and I buy products from Walmart, we are purchasing lowest bid production, which happens to come from most of the cities mentioned. If we want that pollution to stop...if we want them to show consideration for our health and well being, the only real method we have available to us is to simply boycott and cease to purchase Walmart based products. But of course, that will NEVER happen.
If factories were originally designed or retrofitted to control waste and pollution
from processes. That would mean the owners and investors care. That will take
a global mindset.
I think we do a pretty good job, here in the US... There are times when I think some greenie-weenies split hairs, because it makes them feel like they belong to something important. They don't actually contribute...but they do like to blow a lot of horns.
To not have that exact mindset about the environmental effects means You as
another human being don't give a shytt about the other human beings that will
exist after you and that includes your own family that will breathe that air, drink
that water and consume that food grown in pollution.[/b]
I give a sh*t, klug

I don't litter, I pick up after myself, I respect my environment and my neighbprs...In fact, just the otherday I consulted with my new neighbor about some tree I intend to plant... I wanted to make sure he wasnt ravaged with allergies, or that the property line wouldnt be an issue in the event of temp over growth...
I would never sneak into the woods with dirty oil...(But i cant promise that I wouldnt test the 'bear in the woods, making sounds" theory
