Funny, I was sort of reading between the lines in Peg's post and thinking quietly to myself that maybe there was more than a purely musical critique going on. Ha, I like the kid. He's rough around the edges and has a lot to learn still but he's got something. Reminds me a bit of another young guitar slinger I knew about 30 years ago.

Haha. I kid. I kid! Me "refined"? Nah. I smoke, cuss, drink, talk too loud, etc. Well, ok...no, I don't smoke.

The sun came out, I got some work done, and we all had a good laugh. I call that a win!

And another vote for too much "stuff" going on with his processing. Waaaaaay too much compression for me. I was also bugged by his timing in a few spots.

While I"ve got my red pen out....we all have played solos that were mapped out and there's no sin in that, but I don't think it should SOUND like it's all been scripted. This song sounds too much like every move and every note is mapped out.

Interesting... IMHO, without 'some' control of the map, all the colors would risk blending too frivoulsy and result in something grey...
