Uhhhh...
It's 5 hours in any direction at least, to the next big city. Not that Boise is a big city yet - around 180,000 to 200,000 people now in the area.
I see it differently because I was raised there.
Too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter.
It's true that you can be in the forest in 45 minutes. In the desert in 20 minutes. But I'm not super outdoorsy.
