What kind of guitar player plays bass?

I play better 1 3 5 6 with my left hand on
a piano.

Mr Scott you go from them telling you your not old
enough, to your to old, you are what you are.

You play a old Hondo bass don't
you Dane, a toy.

I sat in with a hillbilly group last Friday nite, and they
had a guy with a broomstick and some clothesline wire
rigged on a old washtub, he played pitch and rhythm with
it by plucking the line and stretching it using the broomstick.

You knoe Dane I just played that incessant lead as you put it,
but that's what they hired me for. I'm 53 and was the youngest guy
in the group/

Lynard, one thing for sure, your memory is really good, yes, you are right, I have an old Hondo II bass guitar I gave 90 dollars for and it's as good as any Fender Precision bass.. Lynard, I never said you play incessantly that I recall, but whatever... I am glad you are playing out and enjoying yourself..

Oh I'm sorry gt I hope everything turns out
the way you want it to, when my little girl was
a baby (she turns 30 this year) me and her learned
the whole Beatles songbook together. Neither of
us will ever forget that.

Lynard, without the need to google it, about your what guitar player will stoop to bass? well off the top of my head I can think of Jimmy Page and Ron Wood.. Yardbirds and Small Faces..

I hear you Dane its a g#$$am bad situation,
when the guitar player has to go in and lay down
the bass track, but it has led to some exceptional bass lines.

If you can play guitar, you can play bass.

It may not be the type of bass playing one thinks of, but the lower 4 strings are the same the last time I checked.

If you know what melodic means, then you've got it.
If you are stuck in an atonal rut, chances are you do neither very well.

I played bass for 10 years because too many others are hacks and they kill the music.

I'd rather support a great band by playing bass with them than be the ANYTHING in a mediocre setup.

If the band sucks, than "YOU SUCK TOO"!!!
Make all the excuses you like, none of them mean diddly..
