If you honestly believe all of that, then just let that old age dementia run its course, and call it a day.

Two reasons that nothing so extreme as that will come to pass - militias, and hacktivists.

Do you remember the Farm Aid Concerts? The plan was to ship food to poor nations.
Quite a few years later, I personally saw for myself, what a big lie the African govt were spinning about the distribution of that food. , I saw a chunk of that food sit in a depot, rotting, moldy just one mile outside of Djbouti Africa, where people were thin as rails, and doing certain things to stave off hunger. (Look up 'Qat leaf' or Khat )

Here's the kicker... Djbouti wasn't a starving village, So guess what 3rd world pictorials got their cameos... The Govt officiasl leveraged their economy by with-holding shipments to Somalia and Ethiopia...

My point is its very real, and i seen it for myself...

grant, i don't doubt your exp there in africa and being a cynic myself...i do understand your cynicism.

but my takeaway is THAT was an example of one part of one gov't dropping the ball.....

...while it would seem that your takeaway is because there were some hosers in THAT gov't....ergo ALL food that was gathered and distributed to other countries suffered the same fate. whoa...that's a pretty big leap and supposition to make as i see it.

Just wait and see...

There's way too much commerce between the two nations for any current reasons. Yeah, we might rattle sabres, but for the most part, it seems to be nothing but posturing on both sides to prove to our "bigmouths" that we are actively wanting to engage them, when the reality of it couldn't be further from the truth.

Now IRAN is a whole different story.. we're DYING to invade that country. Israel is pushing as hard as they can to that regard, and anymore, what Israel wants, Israel gets. If you deny them anything at all, no matter what the reasons, you will be labeled as an anti-semite and ridiculed.

The only advantage I have in this supposition, is that I was 'there'. I saw much more than just the mere withholding of food.
Mark, I have traveled extensively to the middle East, Asia, and such. The pattern of 'ethics' is the same. I didn't read this stuff out of a national geographic, bro. SO yeah..I'm making a leap, to be sure. But that's one jump I'll land without actually falling in the gap.

YOu can question me on my interpretation, but truthfully..i wasn't born yesterday and yeah I'm more cynical than a cone hat on a pin-head...But my general take away is that there is a vast culture of corruption in that part of the world. Now here's a kicker.... I say corruption, and that's just by my own definition. Apparently, over there, they dont see it that way... Its all accepted practice as far as many of them are concerned. All I can recommend, is to travel there and see it, live it experience it for yourself.
Finally, (And this ain't no lie) I saw an El Paso Police Dept Patch sitting under a glass case, for sale... In Djabouti! Sheesh... The arm of corruption has a far reach-around!
