This org is so far left in its propaganda that they could be the marker for the furthest edge of liberalism. Even these regime leaders appear to be right wing compared to this guy. The only thing that I can trust about liberals is that they lie lie lie to push their agenda. No? I'm sure there are two sides to every story.

Don Hazen, a former publisher of "Mother Jones" < another far left rag.

Slacker, that article was written by an independent journalist, who cited an article by the WSJ. You are attacking the messenger, and ignoring the message.

I checked the source and googled it before I posted it here, and found the article to be factual and accurate.

If you want to grand-stand, let's discuss the topic, not it's presenter, eh?

lterNet, a project of the non-profit Independent Media Institute, is a progressive/liberal[2] activist news service. Launched in 1998, AlterNet now claims a readership of over 3 million visitors per month[3] (the web ratings service Quantcast estimates that it receives 1.3 million).[4]
AlterNet publishes original content as well as journalism from a wide variety of other sources. AlterNet states that its mission is to "inspire citizen action and advocacy on the environment, human rights and civil liberties, social justice, media, and health care issues."[3] AlterNet's tagline is "The Mix is the Message."

Founded in 1998, AlterNet publishes a combination of policy critiques, investigative reports and analysis, grassroots success stories and personal narratives. Its coverage emphasizes the discovery of solutions to social problems, and its editorial philosophy is "to uphold a commitment to fairness, equality and global stewardship, while making connections across generational, ethnic and issue lines."[3]
Coverage is sub-divided into several special sections related to progressive news and culture, including News & Politics, World, Economy, Civil Liberties, Immigration, Reproductive Justice, Economy, Environment, Food, Water, Books, Media & Culture, Belief, Drugs, Personal Health, Sex & Relationships, Vision, and Investigations.
AlterNet publishes original content and also amplifies the best of the alternative media. The editorial staff is headed by founder and executive editor Don Hazen, a former publisher of Mother Jones.[5]

AlterNet is financed through individual donations, by grants from major donors, and ad revenue.[5] In 2001–2005, the top three financial backers of the Independent Media Institute were the Nathan Cummings Foundation, David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Ford Foundation.[citation needed]

I'm not quite sure I see where the problem is here.

"Progressive" is now a bad thing? Discussing solutions is bad? Activism and grass roots are bad?

C'mon. I AGREE that alternet has bias, it's a damn progressive site... what is so bad about having a viewpoint?? I rag on some of their journalists if/when they let their bias cloud their reporting, i just look for truth.

Slacker and other conservatives aren't interested in the truth.
They just want reinforcement of their prejudices.

I can't remember when I heard anything from a demoncrat that wasn't a flat our barefaced lie. And you think I'm the one who doesn't get it.
