Good advice all around. We turned off our cable two years ago. I've been watching reruns of Perry Mason, The Rifleman, Dennis the Menace, etc. Reminds me of my youth when life was a little better. I can't remember any school massacres back then...

That school killing took place practically in my back yard.
Some of my friends/relatives knew some of the children.
We don't need to be told to be sad.
These people are from a small community, and it devastated them.
The town will never, ever be the same again, for 100 years . . .
They really, really do not like the attention and the politicization of it all.
There is a lot of crying going on . . .
Make politcal jokes at someone else's expense.

The joke is on guys like Jimmy.
He has no connection to this whatsoever.
But, he's been terrible to deal with since Friday.
Just being mean to everybody.
We told him he needs to turn off his TV if it is upsetting him that much.
I dunno if he took the advice or not.

Mike, s'ok . . . one of my cousins is just having a really hard time with it.
She lives in Newtown; her kids used to go to the same school.
. . . small place; everyone knows each other and all . . .
.
It's one thing to see it on TV, another thing to be a part of it.
.
She spent last night at a wake hugging four children whose mother died with her body protecting one of her students.
.
And she spent part of today at a mass for a six year old kid, listening to her mother give an eulogy for her daughter.
.
You can't begin to imagine what it does to someone who knows all the families personally . . .
. . .
Sorry, man; don't mean to rag on you . . . my sense of humour is about the same as yours . . .

I'm really sorry to hear about that.
I'm at least glad no one from your family had to go through this PERSONALLY.
It's one thing to see it on TV.
It's another thing for it to happen to people you know and love.

Post all the pictures and keep looking at them.

I guarantee that isn't the end of it.

Look at all the news coverage and media sensation.

No, someone else will do it again..it's not over yet.
It's just begun.
