In this eight week course we'll cover and break down the many different aspects of basic improvisation: chord tones, chord scales, guide-tone lines, modes etc., analyze those aspects, and improve on them at all of the students' different skill levels. During the eight classes essential elements of jazz theory and song forms will be taught and broken down, from the blues, to modal, rhythm changes, and other jazz song forms. By the end of the eight week session all of the students will have a better understanding of how to improvise as well as a priceless new confidence at soloing on there respective instrument.
Level: beginning to intermediate instrumentalists (some basic note and sight-reading knowledge is preferable). Each of the 8 workshops are only $25 per person. All instrumentalists and vocalists are welcome but you must pay for the eight classes in advance to reserve your spot. If you're interested in signing up for the 8 week series or have any questions about it just send me a message through bandmix or e-mail me at logan@mayhemproductions.us or pre-register at Musicology: (727)723-1000 / 2576 Sunset Pt.
