I try to sing but its total mess.
Without vocals its just guitars wanking.

Yes sir, I did indeed...

See this is the whole problem, we got a really SWEEEET harmonic but it wasn't 1-3-5 and Sven (our new electric cello player/drummer) ended up causally deleting it. I think the cry was something like, "Yea that was good, but you can do better".

The problem lies in the fact that no one including me knew what that harmonic was really and instead of casually rerecording it while the original was muted, the harmonic was deleted, lost to space and the infinite beyond.

(I almost cried when we couldn't get it back. "I tried to exit the airlock and go get it but I was restrained by the ship's doctor and when I awoke we were already light years past that point and I was groggy from the hypo he shot me up with". "I am just glad I didn't end up in restraints or in the brig, nobody has a good time in the brig".)

(MEAN LOOK AT SVEN) lol

Well if it's not 1-3-5 there are only 9 other possible notes and most will be obviously wrong. Find a keyboard and let your fingers do the walking. When you find it you will know. The process of elimination works.

That's the problem, I think it might have been a halftone or semitone or something that isn't directly on the keyboard.

I do know we tried like mad to bring it back but it didn't come back at all.

Now it's just 1-3-5 and I can hear it sailing all over the universe without me. (sheds tear) (snivel-snivel) (but I can't get it to pop out of my mouth) lol

"Always record everything and never, never, never delete anything until you are 10000% sure you are DONE". (cause soon as you do, you'll need what you just threw away..)

If it was a freaky overtone, then it couldn't have been cleanly split up intervals. No 1 3 5.
If you have equal distance between the notes, then nothing weird should happen.
Forget the 5.
Start with 1. Then move around the second interval, and go with a 6th in place of the 5.

It's just gone, Zip.
24+ hours past and it's so far gone it may as well have never been.
(shakes head in disgust)

Besides it's cleaner this way, albeit more boring and standard.

"Do whatever you want, just please don't bore me". lol

Right now, I am just afraid of what this monster will sound like once it's done or even next session.

I'm a bit on the fence because it's not what i usually do at all, no mud to play in. And clean, well clean for me at least.

I imagine it's what Charlton Heston thought when his ship crashed and he regained consciousness in "Planet of the Apes". LOL

(GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF OF MY HARMONIC... NoooOoOoooooOooooo lol Oh sh*t)

And after redoing the basic 1-3-5 harmony, it definitely wasn't that.
(It might have been a burp, but that burp tasted like PRIME RIB.)

I know how you feel... Lots of songs fall together by accident... SOme of them fall apart the same way.
If you want it dirty, then make it dirty...sling mud on it..I ( bet that extemporaneous harmony might rear its head, once again... (Its how you got it there the first time...right?) Sling paint Scotty! The color will reappear 8)

See? I can't though..I tried 20x and it just didn't come back.

(I tried hard, really I did.)

Worse yet my head was out to lunch via umpteen thousand takes and I could even get my brain to remember it. (That's how I know it was really good.)

It's there for a sec and if whoever is at the console doesn't get it or deletes it accidentally or whathaveyou, that's it...IT'S GONE.

Now I rather doubt it was a intentional thing but it does sadden me as I wish it had just been shuffled to the side, then I could have recreated it better maybe..

I love to play with people but I don't like the fact that people presume to know what I am thinking. They don't and over time, that fact gets driven home over and over again.

The part I really wonder about is that sometimes it would seem that the better I do initially with a tune, the more complicated people in general want to make it. THAT I'll never understand.

COMPLICATED does not equal good, necessarily.

If you think it's good, fine. Just let me finish it so we can record the next one. DO NOT OVER COMPLICATE, it ruins the feel and it makes you look like you are in a state of panic.

MORE IS NOT BETTER...1 candy bar is fine, but 10,000 is not better.

If you have something good, just try to complete it.
It doesn't need to be a sonata, it just needs to be complete in it's most basic fashion.

24-48 hours later if you feel like it has to be 2 Milkyway bars, ok then.
Otherwise leave it be and enjoy it the way it is...

As for this tune, I am not going to reinvent the wheel.
I'm looking to finish and that's it. All the hard work has already been done and I have to thank Les and Sven for their hard work.

They make me sound better than I really am and for that I am eternally grateful.
