I may be wrong...

Trapeze - Only time I was able to see them was in 1973 in the Beaumont area, great show, I think right after Medusa album was recorded. I still have a copy of that one on vinyl. Probably never get tired of listening to Black Cloud...

I was at that Trapeze show but I saw them quite a few times so I don't remember which location it was. Either it was way out on Hwy 90 at the club (forgot the name) or it was Bmt Civic Center Auditorium or it was at the fairgrounds.

What were you doing in Beaumont? Long way from Bastrop. I was just starting to play guitar in '73. Did my first acid trip listening to that album for about 6 hours laying on the beach with my head between 2 stereo speakers. I actually SAW the music, in kaleidoscope visions.

Isnt' it funny how a song can bring you back so far?

It wasn't Beaumont Civic Center or fairgrounds, and I seem to remember something about going to Nederland...so maybe out Hwy 90. Recollections are fuzzy, may have had something to do with all those little white cylindrical objects floating around...I think I taste tested a number of them.

I lived in Groves, right outside Port Arthur. I had originally lived in Lumberton but got into a fight with a step brother literally 3 times my size, it turned into a mess and I ended up living with an uncle in Groves. Then the step brother ended up living next door later on, but I guess things had cooled off a little, he stayed away from me. Might have had something to do with a hole in his lip and a goose egg on back of the head (where it hit a trailer wall) At least then he knew I wouldn't put up with any more of his crap...

Anyway it was one of a couple of shows there - Trapeze, Nitzinger...John Nitzinger was a hell of a guitar player. A friend in Groves got me into Trapeze, Nitzinger and some obscure Texas 3 piece that had just released an album with the unlikely name Rio Grande Mud...a few months later they also released another one called Tres Hombres...Ever heard of anybody like that?

So that's how I ended up at the Trapeze show, lived in Groves and had very recently been exposed to their Medusa album. Before I ended up here in stinkville I lived in Texas for around 30 years...Beaumont area, Houston, Baytown, Pasadena, Austin, Bryan/College Station, Lufkin, San Antonio...expect to be back in Lufkin area before long, it's been set back a couple of times, but in process of packing now, expect to be actually moving in a couple of weeks.
