I tend to agree...Except the video card on my just crapped out... SInce its an On board card, I guess that means I have to replace the whole motherboard

PAPER, never use onboard video. It uses resources from your computer that would otherwise be better utilized.

Take any old crappy laptop video card and insert it.

If you need a crappy one, I have a few lying around.

Thanks Scotty. Normally, I would agree about the onboard. That Acer was 4 + years old, I picked it up, brand new, on sale at Best buy for 300 bucks. Prolly the best money for gear I ever spent. It had served me quite well. I think the card (ran on Nvidia drives) has a history of crapping out. I ve burned out a few standalones befoe this...all were Nvidia. LOL When will I learn to stop digging the same hole? ha ha!

When I buy a laptop, I generally get it in pieces so it doesn't cost me much.

I just fing hate working on them because they are temperamental and touchy !!!

And a cheap ass video card for laptop can be had for free if you know someone. (wink) lol

I have more regular video cards for desktops than I have for laptops.

DO NOT USE ONBOARD video or sound. bad-bad-bad.

Parts are easy, hardware conflicts are hard.

And having enough resources to run your stuff can be daunting.

I was told the I 7 series have less problems with compatability issues. This computer is an Acer Aspire V3-571-9401 and the thing cost $700.00 on sale

When they are selling it, they'll tell you anything at all.

(sales has a lot of liars, right behind lawyers, politicians and car salesmen.)

It wasn't a salesman but a friend who knows about computers told me that. I NEVER trust ANY salesman. I got this thing at Fry's. What do you guys think about the service contracts they make you think you can't live without? I have heard some horror stories about those things so I told the salesman I MIGHT come back next week and let relieve me of another $200.00 but not before I do a little research!

Cool beans, don't buy the service contract.

This junkie friend of mine bought a newer car not too long ago and doofus opted to pay the 1500$ extra for a service contract.

Then we found out there was a light out on his dash and they didn't have time to fix it.

I.e>. fix it yourself and save the $ on the service contract.
If you can't do it, I'll wager we can find someone local who can and do it for LESS $.

acers are LOADED with bloatware, might do you good to uninstall it all, it will easily gain you speed and performance. This program will do most of the work for you- and it's FREE.

YEAH HE'S RIGHT.

And remember when your System Tray is full of icons, you have that sucker loaded to the gills before you ever even attempt to run more important things.

Clean up your system or find someone who can do it for you.
