nuthin wrong w a good P bass...or a J for that matter. i've got a few P's and J's around the shanty. actually my go to bass is a heavily modded 63 P bass. countersunk BADASS brdg, bartolini P and J p/u's and curly q grover machines. i've had the same set of d'addario flatwounds on her for around 5 yrs now. light gauge .040 to .095 set w very low action.

as for the rest of my instruments i told the mrs. to do what she will w a cpl of exceptions. a good bass buddy of mine loves this 1990 WARWICK Stage One Streamer bass so he gets that.

Oh wow, you have a '90 Streamer????!!!! i LOVE those basses. Like a Spector but only better. Is your's all like crazy grain? Do you have any pics?

peg, not only do you sound great (love your tone), and have some cool originals.....but you also have great taste in basses apparently.

....no photos handy but you can see hear my WARWICK here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiYEFNijKto

i do think these are superior to SPECTORs....and since there are so many similarities...i've always wondered about who copied who. i do believe Spectors were around first but i'm not sure about that.

mine does have "crazy grain" as you referred it. body is gorgeous quilted maple and the neck is 5 pc birdseye maple (rice crispies all over the place) and wenge. my friend who's a woodworker told me the body and neck could be classified as AAAAA.

whenever i'm going to play a gig somewhere that has dubious acoustics....this is ALWAYS the bass i bring.

Nice playing Miss Peg.

As to basses - I'm planning for the near future - i.e. getting a bass gig with a local band, so I need a second bass. Been looking at various Fender offering and a few other things as well - Music Man - about whom I knew nothing.

The new Fender Tele Reissue looks pretty sweet. Has anyone played one?

The best basses I ever see are the old, smashed up ones in the pawn shop.

You never know what you'll find until you look.

Thanks Mike and thanks for checking out my tunes! :)

I used to think I wanted a Music Man Stingray--- until I PLAYED ONE! LOL! Wow, are those things big and heavy. Now, I think I'd like a MM Sabre. They're a little smaller and not as heavy.

So what's that bass you're playing in your avatar? Looks interesting. And old! :)

Oh my, the photos are OK but getting to see and hear you play it---I MUST HAVE ONE!!! LOL.

GREAT BAND! I just watched the video all the way through. I love your version of Wayne Shorter's "Footprints" that you start off with. And you can really see your bass well. I wish it was a little louder in the mix though. That's a neat instrumentation lineup too. Everyone and everything is so exposed with nowhere to hide.

So what's with camera men and directors who NEVER seem to have the camera on the musician who's soloing??!!!!???!!?
