I was most offended by that sorry excuse for a theremin!
I don't personally know any theremin players other then myself, but "I'M here to tell ya'"...Real theremin players DON'T TOUCH 'EM TO PLAY 'EM !

P.S.....Craig, I like what you bring to the forum! :D THANKS!

Wow. I'm impressed. Not alot of Theramin players out there.

I had to look it up (In an encyclopedia this time Irminsul - LOL). Now I know quite a bit about them. :-)

Apparently Vladimir Lenin was a theramin enthusiast. This was sometime after having Czar Nicholas II of Russia and his family murdered.

You're not having any murderous tendencies are you brother?

Remember, I was one of the people here that always liked you!

LOL

Craig,
It has come to light in recent times that the instruments inventer,"Leon Theremin", Was a Russian spy!

I first became interested in the thing back in 68 after buying a "Lothar and the Hand People" album. In the 70's ,I mentioned the instument" that you dont touch to play" to a coworker and, to my surprise , he said he was familier with them and could build one for me! The circuit came in kit form from a company called (if I remember correctly) "Southwest Technical".Cost, $14 !
I fabricated a case and two triangular antanae, one for "pitch" and one for "volume". After putting the whole mess together, I was soon playing "Good Vibrations"! Unlike the original tube version, mine used transistors. I could play E.L.P.s "Luckey Man"years before I owned my first synthisizer. A very spookey ax!

B.B. King named his guitar Lucille. I would love to have a naked bass guitar. I would name her Vanessa and tell my wife "yeah I'm gigging tonight and I'm taking Vanessa. See ya...

That's just badass bro!

That unique of an instrument on stage would definitely get people's attention.

See? Now I'm gonna have to go on YouTube to see if there is video of someone playing one! LOL

Well, when you get Vanessa, even though she's a bass, don't let B.B. touch her. I hear Lucille is one jealous....

Lmao. A jealous bass guitar, great.

As for the theremin, I had no bloody clue what that was. I had to look it up, then when I saw it I realized what it was. I remember seeing it on the History Channel with all of that spy stuff about it. Strange instrument, lol. Cool though that you can play it, HowlinJ. Just hope you are not a spy, for all I know I am being watched right now...

Lmao! Just kidding.

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

Semi famous looping artist Keller Williams plays a theramin. I saw him do it with laser lights on his finger tips on a foggy darkened stage. Cool visual with the cool instrument. This vid is from the daytime so no lasers, but cool none the less. http://youtube.com/watch?v=YPC-iTmvjSs
