1). Note that the source of the article on Russia getting ready to possibly attack Iran. Any action that either Israel and/or the United States will take in Iran will be limited in scope to crippling Iran's nuclear weapon making capabilities. In the past Israel took out Iraq's nuclear program under Saddam Hussein and more recently Syria's nuclear program as well. In both instances Russia and the Soviet Union did nothing about Israel when arguably Russia and the Soviet Union were militarily more capable than they are today.

2). I believe that fearing a Russian and/or Chinese attacking the United States is delusional, paranoid thinking. Historically neither Russia or China has been an aggressor nation very often. I studied Russian and Soviet Union history while in college. Russia has been the most attacked nation on Earth. If I remember correctly they have been attacked 38 times previously. China also has had an autonymous mindset through most of its history. With the downfall of the Soviet Union, Russia has had significant economic reform and China the same, particularly since it reacquired Hong Kong. The United States is a huge trading partner with both countries. It doesn't make any sense that either would want to attack us. An attack on us would essentially be an attack on themselves.

3). You guys that are diametrically opposed, either far left or far right, and sniping at each other are frankly immature. Our government already has elements of liberal and conservative thinking. There is a convergence of economic and political systems that has ALREADY happened. Instead of taking opposing sides and hurling verbal insults at each other, OR WORSE, what we need to do is look at individual problems that we have and figure out a way to PRACTICALLY solve them WITHOUT labeling a solution as "left" or "right," or "Liberal" or "Conservative." I firmly believe both the Democrat AND Republican parties are hopelessly outdated. What we desperately need is a viable third political parrty that solves problems in an absolute bi-partisan, NON-RELIGIOUS way free of LABELS. And for crying out loud quit "end times thinking." We have no idea when and if the Earth will be destroyed. We have no idea when and if the Final Days are coming. I don't like the idea of a self-fulfilling end times death wish. I DO like the idea of not worrying about it and focusing on individual problems and solving them in a PRACTICAl manner that will make nearly everybody happy.

Damn... You are totally correct...

Damn ... I almost totally agree with you... Just the part about autonomy. China is viewed as a Nationalist country... They know its important to trade, but they would not lose sleep if they shut out a few neighbors. Actually its a practice that we should try for at least one presidential term.

Damn... I agree! I have always said, if we want to save the world, just work on our own kids... and that would be a huge contribution... (Think if everybody did that)

What you say is completely logical, from a military point of view.
but our particular vulnerabilities are not military, like the British before us we militarily strong but financially, we are on a precipice.
the Russians don't have to win, they just have to keep us occupied for one more administration.
remember the British WON the 2nd world war, if you call that winning.

This is also accurate, but technically speaking they won't be attacking us, we will be attacking them, by attacking their ally Iran.
and the Chinese will simultaneously loan us money and covertly supply small arms as their doing in Afghanistan.
The Chinese will be happy to loan us another couple of trillion to put boots on the ground in Iran.
and we will need it, I have read article that fuel rationing programs are already in place in Afghanistan.

I certainly cannot argue with this last comment.
mainly because polarization usually leaves the leftists and communist with an upper hand

Actually what we need is a leader who's not part of ANY party, one who is NOT confined by a political party platform, one who is charismatic enough to change history without kowtowing to an antiquated, out-dated political philosophy. I don't know if our political process would allow somebody appearing on the ballot who is not part of a political party, perhaps an independent? Not surehow that might work. Maybe somebody charismatic enough to have many millions of people write him into office.

Okay, the party-less party then!

There are no un-tried philosophical ideologies. If you dream one up, it has a name in history. There have been said philosophies in practice since the first cave man got married (or whatever they did).

And, it doesn't matter if you get rid of titles - those only describe the general ideology of it's followers. Get rid of the title and the underlying ideology remains, and it will be given a title because people use titles to identify general things. It's easier to say "charismatic" than it is to define it, when speaking to others.

but I agree - it would be nice to cast off our current options

Cheers! 8)
