We have a gig sat night and dont ussually practice, but my drummer, bass player and I are getting together to practice and just have a good ole jam session.

Our singer cant make it, he has a nephew who was invovled in a bad motorcycle accident with his GF last night, but they are being released and will be OK.

When our singer isnt there, we tend to go all over the board.

Weve talked about playing When The Levee Breaks, Stay With Me, and Hush, so I think we will try to put those together tonight, but heck lots of times when its the three of us we just get into some interesting jams, so it will be fun.

Im still planning on using my amp this weekend instead of the preamp, Ive been back on it for a couple of days and it sure feels good!

Keep On Rockin Everyone!

Practice (almost) never hurts. Remember to tell the singer he's got to learn some new lyrics!

JW, you have the talent to make it an epic guitar extravaganza night so tear it up! That's the reason I do solo shows outside of my band so I can just let go and play my little heart out. No vocals, just the guitar singing.

LOL. Mike you and I think alike, thats what has been on my mind all day long, what can I pull out of the hat tonight.

We used to play YYZ, Freeway Jam, and Frankenstien along the insturmental vein so who knows what will happen.

We drive our singer crazy sometimes cause in the middle of something we will just break off into some free form abstract stuff, one of my fun things to do is to play patterns on the neck, not scale patterns, I wish I could explain it, squares, rectangles, triangles just patterns like painting and see what comes out, sometimes it works, sometimes not, but you just never know where you will land when you just take the theory out of playing and let her go, and I am ready to let go!

GM, I already qued our singer into what we are running thru, weve played together so long he said he would get the harp and vocals together for our gig sat night When the levee Breaks, he didnt want to get into the others, but thats whats cool about my group and playing covers, if something takes a fancy to any of us, even without practicing it, we will all listen up, and at a gig just pull it out of the hat, many times we only do these songs once, but it just keeps the mind open and the chops flowing.

Sounds cool. Do a medley of songs you guys dig w/o vocals leading into a song your singer does well, then it's a win win!

Rock on JW, when the singer isn't there
one of you guys should man up and step
up to the microphone. I hate to play with
others if we can't have singing. Singing seems
to add direction to the music, and I can't hardly
play without a mic in front of me (actually my
mic that I've slobbered allover) lol

We use to play Heartbreaker and then the breakdown
into Living Loving Maids, I still get off when I play
those songs. In my Time of Dying another good
one for guitar players to show off on.

Well Im glad I didnt set the pa up Lee, about the time the guys were supposed to show up both called and had to cancel.

Lee I do sing, so its not like we dont have vocals when our singer isnt there, sometimes we work out backing vocals.

It wasnt a wasted night, since I moved my amp in the big room, I got my amp sounding like I want it for the weekend, reprogrammed my delay unit, and Im thinking of pulling the ole TS off my board, this thing is old, and the switch is not always activating, I have this nasty boost/distortion pedal I may put in its place, it has 3 band eq so I may set the boost up and boost the mids, to let my solos pop out of the top a little more.

Haley if you read this, when I move those pedals it will mean putting that EVH pedal in front of everything, so I will see how I like it behind the boost pedal.

Haley Im back all in front of the amp, my loop is wired parrallel and didnt like some of the issues with that on my delay and my whammy.

wireless>tuner>wah>phasor>distortion>whammy>delay is how Im gonna set it up, and see how it goes
