It's a bit repetitive, but it makes a valid point.
.
I expect a ton of disparaging remarks . . . Every pessimist will try to convince you that they are realists, and - whilst laughing at you - try to convince you that you are naive.
80 % of people think it can't be done, but if someone has succeeded at a thing, you can too.
If everyone you talk to tells you that you can't succeed, then you are talking to the wrong people. They will always be folks you tell you to give up before you try.
I caution you to ignore anyone who tries to trash your dreams.
Without a positive mindset, nothing can be accomplished, though, eh?.
Its not wrong..but it starts reading like a Tony Robbins pep talk...
Tho I absolutely agree about the power of success mindedness... I think that would apply across all vocations...not just music & entertainment..
What the article does not mention...(very key point) is that you got to surround yourself with successful people. To do that, you start by dumping all the shitheads and assholes that keep hanging around and suck out your energy or spirit.... This Christmas , I told two people to f**k off , ...never wanna see em again... They tried to drag me down and I had just had enough... One guy ..everytime he opened his mouth, it was to cut somebody, or something down... Finally he did it to me... where it became intolerable... and that's when I cancelled my subscription to 'that' friendship.
Success begets success...So it stands to reason that successful people breed successful opportunities...
Any successful opportunity is always driven by the desire of somebody to work his/her ass off.
I have to laugh at high-school kids these days...They see success on TV and totally don't get the 15 years it took for the artist to get there...
Finally, Success does not necessarily require that we win the trophy... I stood up before a crowd of 20 people on New years, and played my original song... They dug it, I dug it and I wouldn't trade that for anything..To me, I was extremely successful that night.
The world is full of negative people.
Learn to ignore them.
I get blasted all the time by anyone and everyone, but the music keeps rolling out like a ball going down hill. lol
Case in point, I just traded a guitar for a Marshall 4104 combo.
I showed it to a friend of mine and he looked like was going to cry.
I felt like asking him why he was getting upset, but I kinda already knew.
People don't want to be happy for you, they want to be happy for them.
If that doesn't fit, sometimes they get angry.
Over and over we say that a good musician has a thick skin.
Listen to everyone and disregard any and all that appear nutty as a fruit bat. Plenty of them have issue(s); mental, personal and physical.
"Don't make your problems, my problems".
A cop told me the above once as he wrote me for speeding..
It's cold but it's reality.
