Readin,' writin,' rithmetic, was great, everybody still had some respect for the fellow man. Then came College classes in how to screw your fellow man out of everything he has, or hopes to ever have. Greed took over. It has been decided that everyone should have a College education work at a computer or calculator and figure out a plan to f#&k their fellow man. There aren't any jobs now because, everyone is now a Chief looking for the minimal amount of corporate CEO jobs. No Indians left. There-fore no one will settle for a menial job.
All through the 1940's-50's-60's gasoline in this country was the same price from coast to coast consistently all year long, 52 weeks a year, with NO variation from town to town, or state to state. what so ever. Then,.. there was Watergate, 1974, customer lines at the gasoline pumps.
The time was finally right ! For the Chiefs to start F#&king with gasoline prices. Wall Street started playing yo-yo with the fuel prices. Naturally, NONE of the Chiefs would dare to regulate this travesty. Because GREED makes them Billionaires. The uneducated Indians will have to go on the war path to rectify or we will all be surely massacred

I don't agree that college is the problem and greed isn't necessarily the limited problem of Wall Street. Every day some man falls down on his ass and then wants to go sue the store because his dumbass wasn't looking where he was going. Clubowners (who aren't necessarily college-educated), other musicians screw each other often. The list goes on.

Granted there's a problem with our political system, there's a greed problem with the corporate world, however, if man would get off his lazy ass and educate himself (which doesn't necessarily mean college - after all, I don't have a degree yet), then the corporate world can't take advantage so much.

Chaeya, I agree that College in and of itself is not the problem !
But, there seems to be a belief in this country that everyone should have a degree from College and strive to be a Corporate executive.
College isn't for everyone ! This is where we are running short of Indians. We have all these CEOs in place. But, who is going to manufacture the product. Most College graduates aren't looking for, or interested in a menial job. There-fore we can't all be Chiefs !!
I have lived through the good times, when fuel prices were not being constantly manipulated in this country. Prices used to be stable for years, nation wide, as well as, locally.
I firmly believe there is enough fuel to go around !!! But, GREED has taken over !

Groove, I'm with you there. I don't have a degree and I make more money than many people who have one. What's the point of spending $100K on some lame major that doesn't offer any jobs?

I'm all for alternative energy and I've been banging my head against the wall on the ridiculousness of getting oil (especially from other countries) for a long time. Don't get me started.

People have been brainwashed for decades to buy into corporate propaganda ("What's good for General Motors is good for America"), turning them into cutthroat greedy robots, regardless of education level, starting at childhood. While I am sure the oil supply is diminishing (ever heard of "peak oil"?), prices ARE being manipulated.

Our economy has been transformed from a manufacturing-base to a service-base. This means that the menial jobs that still pay well are all pretty much gone. You have to have some kind of education or skill or you are doomed to a life of barely making it.
