Do it IF you have something comparable to artists you emulate. DON'T do it if your material doesn't measure up. How Jango works is you pay a set fee to have your tunes played alongside famous artists who perform a similar style/genre to your tunes. Jango listeners are then asked to judge your tunes whether they like or dislike. If they like it then they are asked to join your Jango fan e-mail list. If your material doesn't measure up you'll have a huge majority of negative votes and you'll be doing more harm than good to your name. BE CAREFUL if you do it. The cost is reasonable I believe, about $30 for your song to be played 1,000 times. There are Jango listeners worldwide, most in the U.S. I subscribe to Jango and listen to it fairly often. There's other cool features that make it worthwhile. You can contact other Jango listeners and become Jango friends, similar to Facebook. You'll see what genres listeners are listening to. If they have similar interests to you and even more importantly if they have similar interests in music that coincide with the music you perform, you could create a friends list WITHOUT having to pay for plays of your material. Then you could send them e-mails telling them you just started selling your own CD. Jango is WORTH checking out.
