Could start with ... posting some freaking music ... before you start bitching.

Tell ya what. Talk about music. Simple as that. Don't read the other threads (I ignore most of 'em). Then post a music discussion.

Be the change you want to see.

So, what has everybody been listening to lately? I've been on a Son House trip.

Been kinda trying to keep outside influence to a minimum right now.
Working on leads / solo stuff for some new music and just want to focus on our stuff now.

Besides my new truck has no CD player.
A small problem I intend to rectify next month.

We ( my wife and I ) have been invited and obtained tickets to see
THIRD DAY at a nice local venue with some friends.
Not been to a "concert" of this nature in quite some time.

Lots and lots of Dickies.

An 8 CD Ramones Tribute!

Some Robin Trower. Some Agnostic Front. Some Alice Donut. Some Fishbone. Some Cardiacs. Some Trogotronic demos. Some Dayglo Abortions.
Some Igor Stravinsky. Some Run-DMC. Some Juan Garcia Esquivel. Some Tatsuya Yoshida. Some African tribal music. Some Mastodon. And more and more Dickies! :D

Leonard Graves Phillips sings like a eunuch on helium. I'm looking into maybe applying some of his style to mine, which is already high and nasally when it isn't low and growling.

Singer for the Dickies. If you haven't heard 'em, rent Killer Klowns From Outer Space. They do the theme song.

Listening to some Allman Bro's trying to get in touch with my inner Dickey Betts. Somehow managed to grow up in Alabama without learning any and have been rectifying that.

Some Robin Trower, Bill Withers and a Billy Squire tune, some for a new band I've hooked up with.

I love to watch Trower play.

Have all my "stereo money" tied up in the band system. Really don't have a decent system in my home or in my ride at the present.
Intend to rectify said situation, but I have some nagging debts I need to clear away first. When I closed out my school I built an 1800 sq/ft shop on my place for storage and to have a place for the band to rehearse.
Lack one payment being free and clear again.

Been so long since I owned a decent home stereo system.
I really have no idea where to start. :?

Last year I threw myself back into 60's based blues-rock in an effort to break my shredding habits. Very satisfied with my "tone" right now. Open mics are helping me work out my own playing style (still like to be told "the truth" on a face to face level). Would like to dust off the Punk era music Ive written and bring it to another level.

I've never been a shredder. There's lots of guys (and some little kids) who could play circles around me. But, I've always been more about getting the right "feel" in the music, the right groove. I've been told I'm one of the few white guys who can really play the blues.

Guitar virtuosos usually sound alike to me, with a few exceptions. I've always liked players like George Harrison, Johnny Ramone, Dick Dale, Toni Iommi, etc.

Bass players, I like a little more technique. But, not overkilled in the same way.
